I took advantage of the Winterlicious menu, thinking I'd score a top-notch meal for fairly cheap. I had a bad feeling when I asked the waiter what was included in the "vegetables" side and he replied, "uh, I think cauliflower." He should know what the menu is! It was brussel sprouts, by the way...
When they brought my black bean soup out, all I could think was, "this isn't as good as the BBS at Sneaky Dees..." which at least comes with sour cream.
The steak was good, but they mixed up the orders - kind of embarrassing when you have to swap steaks with the person across the table.
The asparagus cost us $7 for 7 of the saddest looking, medium-sized spears.
And to top it off, we were there for over 3 hours!
As far as I'm concerned, they shouldn't be able to charge half as much on a regular night, let alone during the Winterlicious festival. If you're gonna splurge on steak, go to Ruths Chris down the street.

When we got there, the drinking glasses were FILTHY! Spots all over them! And we didn't get the water we had asked for until we were almost finished our dessert.

What? 4 dollars for some sauce for your steak? that's just nuts!

We almost ate here a couple months back. The restaurant had just opened and had sent out postcards offering a free appetizer (or was is a discount?). Anyways, I checked the place out and the decor was nice - very modern. I guess what turned me off was the owner. I don't want to sound rude, but she reminded me of someone else's grandmother, in desperate need of a wardrobe update and breath mints. She tried to convince me to stay, but I just didn't have a good feel for the place (or her). Ended up at the Keg, which is always a good fall back venue. Will steer clear of Steak!

That's too bad that you had so much trouble when all you wanted to do was go out for a nice meal! Thanx for telling the rest of us about this so we can avoid the same trouble in the future. :)

Bad service and bad food... yuck. Thanks for the info... I agree your server was a dim wit!

...there were so many things that turned me off that it's hard to remember them all! When we ordered our steak, the server asked what kind of sauce we'd like, and listed the various kinds for us. Little did we know that these sauces would show up on our bill! Think of the little Chalet Sauce dishes you get at Swiss Chalet... Only they cost $4 EACH!

although.. I would pay $4.00 for extra bernaise sauce.. but only bernaise :)

Charging for sauces is one of my top pet peeves. It just irritates me to no end. I had the same problem at Houston Steak but at least they told me! On the other hand, when I complained at Canyon Creek about charging for sauce the manager called me back, said they changed their policy and invited me back for a free dinner.
