My husband and I are currently looking for a house to rent. I found a beautiful house in our price range from www.mls.ca. I called the phone number and left a message. Several days later a man got back to me to say that he was still getting information about the house and would call me back in a few days. A week passes and no call, I tried calling back and got a machine. I left a few messages with a few different people and finally someone calls back. He tells me that the house is now being offered at Rent To Own and if that is something we'd be interested in then he'd show us the house.
After talking it over, and doing some research we thought it would be worth a look.

Today was finally the day we managed to get an appointment to look at the house. It was supposed to be a 1 o'clock. Almost a half hour later, nobody showed up. Finally I called the office where I was told he was busy showing a house and would call me back. When he FINALLY called back, he acted like he forgot we had the appointment and would be there when he was there. An hour later he shows up, empty handed. No papers about how much the house is, no tenant agreement etc. We looked at the house and of course loved it. When we asked about how it worked with rent to own. He said he didn't know anything about it other than we still needed to be approved for a morgage. I'm not in the market to buy a house and he knew this.

Basically we were given the brush off and pretty much told that he had people who were going to actually buy a house and he had to deal with them first. Who is he to say that we weren't going to buy it?

Now i'd NEVER consider buying from Re/Max and will not be using www.msl.ca to look for rentals.
