I should have wrote a review before but didn't know about this sight. My sister is getting married and I wanted to buy her her photography as my wedding gift and I knew she would die to have Darren Scala. He took pics of my wedding in 2009 and we were so stunned with the work he produced and in his professionalism throughout the day and evening. My father was even impressed with him and that says alot. One of the very few *genuine* artists in the Canadian wedding photography field, and he was a true gentleman to the ladies. Ladies you'll just *love* him ;-) Very charismatic and charming! Unfortunately he is not doing weddings anymore. Can't say I blame him!!! He has probably hundreds of happy brides under his belt but theres always going to be a small percentage who can't be pleased no matter what or who like to ask when will things be done (hound). It's actual art, not snaps from the big box store. You don't ask those questions. When Darren is done he is done. That's the way we looked at it and now almost 10 years later we still love looking at our photographs and our kids don't get bored looking at them with us lol. We have several on the walls framed.

Investing in a bona fide artist is one of the best investments you'll ever make.

I wish there was a 10-star option for Darren Scala because 5 is not enough.

Completely non responsive to emails and phone calls. Photos still weren't finished after 1 year, so I settled for the unedited images. Paid a lot of money for nothing special.

Have nothing but good things to say about Darren & Teresa. They were both amazing fun people to work with, really accommodating when we had last-minute changes to our schedule and always in a good mood, even when I wasn't in a very good mood. They know how to make you feel good when the pressure was a bit much to deal with on our wedding day. My friends got their wedding pictures back a few weeks after their wedding, but their photos look like cheap snap shots compared to ours. Darren (and Teresa) are exceptional photographers, and we had no problem waiting an exceptional amount of time to receive their exceptional work. Oh, and they were dressed right up sharp for our wedding! Our friend's photographers looked like they were dressed for holidays.

Ive always admired Darrens style, ive used him for Commercial work. I had a quick turn around on my photos. But it was not in the middle of wedding season. His lighting techniques are fabulous, i cant imagine the 1000's of hours spent in photoshop to process all those photos. Very skilled professional, yes you wil have to wait for your photos. But hes worth it. Outstanding portfolio

I would never recommend him as a photographer. He takes several years to provide you with mediocre pictures. He does not respond to email or phone calls and makes ridiculous excuses when you are provided with your photos years later. Run the other way. There should be an option for 0 stars.

Darren is a very talented photographer. He shot our wedding last May at the Hacienda in Kitchener Ontario. My only criticism (and the reason I can only give him 3 stars) is that he is very difficult to get a hold of and does not respond timely to emails. We have been trying to get a hold of him for several months but have not received a response. We are super excited to see our photos and hope we hear from him soon.
