I hired Robert Gater. He took a $2825.00 retainer, did nothing but give excuses why he did not start the work. Now over two years later I must go to Court to get back my Retainer.
This was a very negative experience. He never responded to the Ottawa BBB when he was contacted and they do not endorse this business.
He sounded trustworthy and led me on to believe he cared...until he had the retainer in his hands.
Be very careful...unless you have money to throw away.

This is the one exception to my list of satisfied clientele. The matter was brought to Small Claims and was deemed "frivolous" by the judge. The client signed a contract and I abided by that contract. The client was displeased with the results, but I cannot guarantee an outcome.

Mr. Gater is a kind nice caring man :)
When I needed help to deal with a harrasing stalker, I went to him and he dealt with it very well.
I was comfortable and relaxed the whole time as he was able to reassure me everything is fine.
It went well and now I'm perfectly happpy.

when i needed someone to help me i rememebred this company from the hot 89.9 radio last year. Someone was sending me bad emails and i was very scared so i asked them to help me. Mr. Robert found out who was sending the emails and i was able to get them to stop harasing me. I am very happy with what theyu did for me. i will tell people about them if somebody asks me.

I saw Mr. Gater on an interview with A Channel morning a few weeks ago and decided to call their offices about my husband. He was working a lot of late nights and had no interest in our relationship lately. Gater Investigations detectives provided me with the evidence that I needed to confront my husband and deal with his "late night work" friend. I agree with the other reviewer that I hope I never need another detective but if I do it'll be Gater!

Robert Gater got video of my ex-husband working as a roofer when he said that he wasn't working and couldn't pay child support. When we showed his lawyer the video and the report, my ex dropped his claim and now I am getting my monthly payments. I am very happy!

I hired Gater Investigations for a personal matter, and really appreciated the communication and constant updates that they shared with me throughout my situation. Although I hope I never have to use them again, if I ever needed another private investigator, I will definitely call Gater again! It even costed me less than I originally thought, too!
