I ate there today It is now called Sweet Home. YUK! I was emberassed after telling a friend of mine we had to go there for lunch.
The onion soup was dishwater and cheese, the mussels were not fresh and my omelette was disgusting. Today is March 11/13 and i wont be giving them a second chance. At no time did anyone ask why we didnt eat our food. Just happy to take my money and see how much the tip was.

used to go here quite often. went there for brunch saturday and had the worst restaurant experience ever. it looks like a restaurant but its really a diner. had the wrong food rbought to me .. i expressed to my server that i was a vegetarian and i did not order the chicken sandwhich. he said no problem. went to the back and came back 30 seconds later with my sandwhich and pieces of chicken still on the bread as they just took out the chicken. i called him on it and he replied "well yeah its the same thing". long story short i sat there with an empty drink all lunch, my friend couldnt get a coffee refill. sat there for 15 minutes waiting for someone to clear our plates while we watched the servers watch soccer on tv and not pay attention to the guests. when i decided to write them an email, the website doesnt have an email address or a place for guest feedback. how convenient. never going back there again!

Just arrived home from the Green Eggplant. I have been before and was quite satisfied, however this time, well, it was just not good. My daughter and I both ordered pasta dishes which came with a salad. We both ordered ceaser salad. I ordered mine lightly dressed although when it came it was drenched in dressing. We both took a few bites and looked at each other, it was just not good. The dressing tasted like bottled dressing nothing homemade about it and tasteless. The waiter noticed I wasn't eating it so he offered to bring me a house salad. When it arrived it was also drenched in dressing and the waiter didn't hang around long enough for me to tell him to put the dressing on the side. I ate most of it because I was hungry. I had to stop at one point as some of the lettuce leafs were warm. They put the salad on a hot fresh plate out of the dish washer! Yuk. When our mains arrived, I had ordered pasta with shrimp, vegetables in a tomatoe sauce. The vegetables were shredded carrots and tons of them! It was so bad I had to pick around the carrots to eat the pasta and shrimp. Who puts shredded carrot in a pasta dish like this? Our waiter was friendly but for $50 bucks we could of done better elsewhere. That's it for me, won't be back there ever again!

I had a ceaser salad the other day and it didn't have enough dressing on it, I think you may have had mine :)

My mom, 12 year old daughter and I regularly celebrate a "girls night" and chose to go to the beaches and have dinner - we had a great dinner, wine and my daughter had an alcoholic free margarita - the food was fantastic and we loved the ambience...we sat by the window, great night!

NOv. 6 went to restaurant for a mini birthday party. Sat by the window, and a little after 7 pm so many people crowded in, that they were literally sitting in our lap. Yet they do not take reservations on a busy nite. In the end we got up not finishing our plates. Oh the waitress (no names) was so miserable, that no tip followed to top it all.
No matter how good the food is, when the ambiance of a crowded bus station ruined it all. Will I go again?....Ahhh...not soon

My family and I were there a few weeks ago. My kids loved it and have not stopped asking us when we're going back again. The food was delicious, the portions huge and the price, quite reasonable. We'll definitely be making this place one of our regulars. It can be quite noisy as it's very busy.

I have just eaten at the Green Eggplant for the first time. WOW! Marvellous selection. Great recipes. Superb quality and unbelievably LOW PRICES! But it is absolutely necessary to have a reservation, even at the beginning of the week.

Met with Amanda for lunch here the other day. Aside from the loud ladies dining next to us, the atmosphere was pretty relaxing. I ordered a chicken avocago sandwich, which came with a caesar salad and a side of fries. It was a lot of food. Pricey, but good.

When the place is full it's very loud in there. But the prices are reasonable, especially considering the portion size. Try Le Pain next door. Twice the price for half the food!

Checked this place out today for lunch and was pretty impressed! Lora.n49.ca and I went and the place was really nice. I had the Swiss and Mushroom burger which came with Caesar salad and fries. Everything was pretty delicious and huge portions!! Taking the rest home for dinner! It was a little pricey for lunch, but worth it for a once and a while treat! The reason it doesn't get 5 stars is that the bathroom is in the basement and the stairs to get there are VERY steep... Kinda scary!

We had the most delicious lunch at Green Eggplant! I ordered the french onion soup and lutz.n49.ca ordered the goulash. It came with some lovely bread and 3 delicious dips...hummus, babaganoush and tomato eggplant. I'm so happy that we have a fantastic new restaurant in our neighborhood! YAY!

I went to Green Eggplant at 1:30 this afternoon. It was super busy so I ordered a french onion soup to go and brought it back to my office. I have to say that this soup is my absolute favorite, I order it all the time and I'm never sick of it.. it really is delicious!

Had a great lunch at this new space across from my office. Food was great, portions were absolutely huge and service was quick and friendly. Absolutely no complaints about this new joint. The manager was mentioning they have another location down in the beaches area of the city on Queen East so I'll be sure it out as well. Great job I'll definitely be returning with my co-workers and family.

So there is a new spot here on the Eglinton West strip. These guys just opened up today so I thought I'd check them out on opening day with some co-workers.
The interior decor is great, very comfortable, the walls are lined with big comfy benches. The food comes in massive helpings and the prices are average. I split an appetizer which turned out to be just way too much food. Once my huge chicken sandwich came I was stuffed. It came with fries and a salad too.
All and all a great addition to the lunch/brunch scene here.

I went back a second time yesterday in the afternoon and was not as impressed as the first time around. I ordered an omelet and it was super bland, and it came with some "potato pancakes" which were really greasy.
