I brought my car to have oil change few days ago. My car is a 2010 Mazda but has only 30,000 km because I don't drive much. They said my front brake is gone, needs new brake $199, brake fluid $99, coolant $130, transmission fluid $150 + tax. The guy was pushy, said this is the discount price if I have it done right now. If I have it done later, the price will be higher.
For sure I didn't fall for the trap. My brother-in-law recommended me to bring the car to AutoExpress to check because he has been using them and I also read many good online reviews for AutoExpress. I have just picked up the car from AutoExpress and they said nothing wrong. Front brake still good at least until year end, transmission oil can wait till the next oil change and they did not charge me for checking the car. I am thankful to AutoExpress to save me at least $600 and so mad with Castro Lube Express crook.

By the way I use Groupon for oil change and Castro Lube Express charged me an extra $15 for oil filter.

Ok, so they upsell,much like everyone else does in this business.
My wife took her car there (2012 Honda) with 9000kms and came out over 300 dollars later.
Interesting thing is that within two weeks, gauge showed only 15% life left in oil.
I went back complaing about the bullshit upsell....all fluid changes etc. Nobody wanted to listen.
Last time there that's for sure and I'll tell everyone I meet.
Come on you guys.... think everyone is stupid?

Incredible reviews for a mediocre oil change operation.
This place is a drive through oil change after all.

They are superficial and not particularly cheap.
The do do oil changes, so if you groove on the experience of an oil change, this is one of many places where you can flip out.

Beware of aggressive up-sells. Check under you car for leaks afterwards (only oil spilled down the block in my case).
These guys are not mechanics, so be wary of any "recommendations".

They have $19 coupon oil changes, ad at that price, there is acceptable value in their service so-long as you keep an eye on things.
I simply cannot believe some of the other reviews on them here.

The team at this location works together & works fast. while one is working on the oil change another is checking air in tires, fluids ect. They do bring up issues that they see that may cause problems and do let me know, but I never feel like they are ripping me off or pressuring me in any way. The boss works alongside his staff and you can see the camaraderie between them all.

I recommend this location to everyone!

This is vancouvers best kept secret. I take my Jaguar XK for regular oil changes here. These guys know there stuff. And the price is right! Everyone I've sent there has been blown away by them.

I went there and ask for an oil change, next thing you know I ended up paying more than $300, their just a bunch of salesman since castrol employee do get commissions, and remember their nice bcuz wer customer.

These fine men have been doing maintenance on my 2000 Ford Ranger since Totem Mercury down the street closed.Their prices are fair, their work is excellent, they treat me good and I have been going there for 5 years now and trust them implicitly. Ashram and all the boys there work hard and they are honest with me always.

I live in Maple Ridge and on the way home after dropping off my friend at the airport i saw Castrol on the way back and since i am due for an oil change i decided to try them, i usually do my oil change but since holiday was so hectic and my friends stayed over at my place i don't have the time. So, i went there checked price told me same old BS like everyone does it's this price but we have a especial today so im like a fool thinking what a good deal, then they started changing my oil and this guy Jamir i think said i need flush on my engine and transmission since they said it's due and ask me when was the last time i did it, So i showed them a receipt that has been done 3 months ago from Canadian Tire and they said Oh maybe they didn't do it properly or something so i decided to just continue what they started and move on with my life.

I recently got my mereceds c 300 oil changed from here and they have good guys working there and great prices. Cost 115 with taxes for synthic mercedes benz oil. Jiffy quoted me 132 and my mechanic wanted 170 and the dealership just rips you off for everything.
