I will never use H&R Block again. They completely skrewed up both my tax return and my husband's to the tune of $12,000 which we now have to pay back to CRA! H&R Block's solution so far- a telephone apology and a promise to refund the amount we paid them to do our returns.

I have used H&R Block for my taxes for the past 4 years. It's worked out OK for me so far because I have a relatively easy tax return every year (T4's, T2202A, and some charity receipts). Each year it gets more and more difficult to trust that they are doing my taxes properly. This year the woman that did mine and my fiance's taxes was ALL over the place. She was asking me questions like "whats left in your education rrsp to claim this year," which I had no clue about, but brought all my papers from the previous year. I don't know where to look for that information, thats why I am paying someone to do them . She just took the papers and looked at me like a confused puppy. THEN she asked me if what my name was... I say Amanda... She asks for my ID, and I comply... Then she says "Your name is Christine right?" I say no, its Amanda, Christine is my middle name. So she stares at my ID some more, then starts filling out a tax form and puts CHRISTINE as my first name!!! My fiance and I looked at each other and just rolled our eyes... This messy tax experience kept going and just got worse when it was his turn. I don't think I am going to use H&R Block next year... Maybe I will learn to do them myself... save myself the $30.
