I found out about this store their Instagram account and was so happy I did! The clothing is amazing and really reasonably priced. Such a well curated shop. I highly recommend it to everyone!

This is the BEST vintage store I have ever been to in Toronto. The store has so many unique items from various eras. The staff are so friendly and helpful. The owner especially, is very sweet and down to earth. It comes as a complete surprise to me reading some earlier reviews. Their stories sound fishy to me. People don't just threaten to call the cops unless they feel they themselves are in danger. I probably would have said the same thing, especially if I was the only employee working at the store at the time. Which I assume she was since I often only see one employee their when I'm shopping. I have bought many items that are vintage that weren't in perfect condition. That is what vintage IS, and that's why the prices are marked down. Because they are not in perfect condition. Why should the store change their policy for one customer? If they do it for you, they've have to do it for everyone. Most vintage stores I go have a no refund policy. It's the norm. You people sound like complainers to me, who didn't get their way for once in their life. I say, good for the store owner. She deserves much respect for her fantastic successful store.

Beware Sub Rosa Vintage. It's a well curated shop but the owner is a total c**t. I have never been treated so rudely in my entire life. I left shaking the last time I was there, she was so mean to me. All I did was question a stain on a coat and *bam*, she was yelling at me and threatening to call the police if I didn't leave. I know that it sounds over the top - it sure FELT over the top. No need to bar me from your store miss. I'll never go back.
I will close by saying that the clothing there is nice but be *very* careful about what you buy. Some of her items and damaged and the halogen lighting hides stains. Take it over to the window and inspect it carefully because she stands behind damaged goods and offers no refunds or exchanges and will basically lose her shit on you if you politely question that policy.

LOUISELOUISE (AND NON-MEMBER BELOW), such aggressive and unnecessary language! I find the above entry a highly inappropriate criticism hypocritically coming from someone calling out the professionalism of company in such an inarticulate and reductive way. And something tells me, the other singular criticism as equally deplorable on this page evidenced below, seems too eerily marked in similar penmanship. I met the young woman shop owner, after reading this, regarding their new "buy/sell/trade" service. She was lovely, but firm; I could tell she had to be considering the uneasy, unpredictable climate of vintage clothing and Kensington Market. And then I realized... Vintage shopping is a different animal altogether than regular commercial retail; and we, as consumers should realize that those expectations don't apply. This is rule not only for the sake of business owners, but moreover the discerning vintage shopper. SHOP SMART. And ladie(s) (; , if she refused to make any further transactions with you, it could be for a very good reason. Reflexivity. People shouldn't stand for abuse. Just because you bought a piece of clothing from them doesn't mean you also own a piece of their pride. For shame!

I bought a stunning vintage jacket, at a higher price than most of their other items, and outside of the dimly lit store, in bright daylight, I saw that the jacket had extensive stains, discoloration, and damage. Upon trying to return it the owner refused even an exchange, stating that she was aware of the condition of the jacket when sold and would stand behind her no refunds or exchanges policy. Now I understand policy, and it's essential if some kid buys a skirt for the weekend and returns it on Monday, but it's a little different when an expensive jacket has a huge stain across it.
Without hostility I tried to show her the damaged item, to which she refused, and demanded that I leave. When I asked her to please re-consider she threatened to call the police.
My only warning to you is to watch out for damaged products slipped amongst the better quality ones. Be careful of a lemon, this store stands behind theirs like a bad used car lot.
