All foods have to qualify for sale at Growlies so you will not see 2 or 3 bags of everything available under the sun here. What you will see are healthy foods with a real focus on raw pet food. We truly believe that the raw meat and bone diets are the best option we can offer our community. <p> Growlies was started out of the pet food scare of 2007 when we as consumers could not rely on the food on the stores shelves. Since we had not really researched our options previous to this and nobody could say what foods were effected. We had to learn what it is retailers are actually selling us. We also had to learn that what our pets really needed are raw meat and bones not kibble. So we opened Growlies to offer what we could not find locally. A health food store for our pets. We are working to improve everyday so hearing your opinions on Yelp will help us do better. :) <p> History <p> Established in 2007 <p> Growlies was started by Jo-Anne and Neal Cropper in 2007 as a result of the benefits they saw in the health of their own pets through a raw food healthy diet. We wanted to show others within our community what we saw when we fed our pets the best diet we could find. We were sure given the pet food recall of that same year that there were others in our community who felt the same way as we do. Read more
