Saverio moved his family to Canada in 1958, where he trained his sons, Joe and Mario. <p> In 1968 Saverio opened his first store in WestMount Shopping Centre. There, he offered shoe repair services, orthopedic modifications and custom made insoles. It was here that Saverio passed his knowledge on to his sons, until his retirement in 1989. <p> That same year, Joe and Mario opened their own shop in downtown Edmonton, under Custom Orthopedic Ltd. Later, realizing that there were not many choices for orthopedic friendly footwear, they opened The Walk Shoppe to offer their clients a better selection of quality footwear. <p> Today, Custom Orthopedic Ltd. & The Walk Shoppe continue the tradition of making hand crafted orthopedic devices, as well as selling high quality brand name footwear. I have been going about 11 years, their knowledge about fitting shoes is worth it to me, good guality shoes, proper fit, and the expertise of Tim and Mario is the best I have gotten. I know I got the right shoes or runners when I walk out of there and always will return, they are so friendly and welcome you, no pressure on buying. I really would recomend if you have problems with your feet, shoes are very stylish also, this is what bothered my the most , going to orthopedic stores, they just like for older people but not at custom orthopedic. The last thing it feels good to speak Italian to Mairio, my heritage.
