I find Clearview to be outrageously expensive. A price to replace an elbow, glue an existing pipe to another existing pipe, creating a new cut because he couldn't get to the elbow was priced at $576. Then he claimed to have been on the job for an hour and a half when he was actually on the job 20 min. The hour and a half was because he didn't had the basic plumbing supplies in his truck and had to go shopping. Two days later there was water on the cut he made. I had to cancel the 2nd visit because the leaking had stopped. Was this job $576 worth? Judge for yourself Before you call Clearview.

They can take your appointment, but they cannot keep it. Clearview and I scheduled and agreed on a morning time window, but no one showed up when the window time frame expired. Upon calling I was given a new time, 2 hours later than the one scheduled in the morning. When that time has come and gone, and I called once again, I was given yet another time, another 2 hours later. I then suggested to Clearview that I should find someone more reliable, someone who can take my appointment and actually keep it. At this point, someone more senior in the company should have taken the call, but no. One star - well deserved.

These guys quoted me $1,016 which was later reduced to $869 to replace and install a control panel in my furnace. This seemed high so I called out a second plumbing company who was able to do it for $358.50 had I gone with Clearview Plumbing I would have been overcharged by $500. I asked them to refund the $72 service fee and proved to them I was able to get the service done at a far lesser cost, they were not interested in refunding my money.

I was out of town, called in for emergency service so they could stop a leaky sink pipe.
They arrived a day late after they said, still charged me for emergency service. $1100 to install a shut off valve (cut sink pipe, and attach valve ($12 from Home Depot). I paid $1000 an hour for labor, and received terrible service.
Please go anywhere else, worst experience I have ever had with a plumbing company.

I requested clear view plumping because of their name. Our tenants had trouble with the kitchen sink draining. They came out and quoted $550.00 or 1500.00. Ok this is a kitchen sink not installing a hot water tank. He felt confident that the $550 would do the job and solve the problem. Not even a month later the problem is back, of course no warrenty. They would be happy to come out and now charge me the $1500.00 or charge me again to look at the problem, same problem that was there a month ago. If they could not figure it out last month, how would I think they could get it right this month?? I will never use this company again

I was charged $698 to fix a leaky faucet. They replaced two cartridges and changed the knobs on the faucet since one was broken. The job took less than an hour. My daughter met them at the property, but I had signed an authorization for up to $700...thinking that they may need to replace the faucet and do some other work. I assumed this was a worst case scenario. They called me to get my visa number before the tech arrived....that should have been a red flag for me [stupid]. They did a good repair, but the charges were 4x what they should have been. I did not even get an itemized invoice. When I asked for a breakdown of the charges, they refused to provide it. Do not use these people.

This company will go out of their way to take advantage of you. They overcharge, and don't have the skills to match. They charge multi hundred dollar diagnostic fees and are defensive when called out on their scam. I can't imagine a worse company to go to for help after my experience with Clearview.

Clearview Plumbing came to do a "quote" on my plumbing issues. The technician they sent knew nothing about plumbing, couldn't diagnose the issue with my shower, then gave me a quote that was 10 times higher than it should be for the work. When I obviously declined the work, they insisted I pay the $72.00 callout fee which they won't return unless I sign a gag-order waiving my right to talk about this issue.

The Clearview Plumbing service man arrived as my wife an I were leaving the house to attend a function. The service technician explained he was going to the truck to prepare a quote with a few different options, even though we had discussed before I left that the problem with my hot water heater was probably a thermocouple. Even the highest estimate I could envision was $200 to $250. And that is an extremely high figure. I left directions with my son to opt for the cheapest option, which he did. That option was $650 to replace a thermocouple. Total time at my home was less than an hour. I feel they took advantage of the situation and my son. How do these guys sleep at night? I was robbed!

After charging me $75 for the service call, they claimed it would cost $395 to replace 1 cartridge. I ended up speaking with a plumber friend and doing it myself, it cost $5.25 for about 5 minutes of effort (to replace 2 cartidges).

Very overpriced and they try to rope you in with the cost of the service call. The people were friendly, but that doesn't really matter when they are over quoting by that much. Completely unethical, and totally inappropriate.

After a carbon monoxide scare on the weekend Sean B was at our house first thing Monday morning to diagnose the problem that the city inspector and another plumbing company completely missed! Sean was professional, knowledgeable, and completed our repairs on time and on budget.

Will ask for Sean next time I use Clearview Plumbing & Heating.

Many thanks!

I am glad that I saved myself of being ripped off. I called Clearview after going through their website to inspect my Giant electric water heater (6000 W, 240 V) which stopped working just after 3 years of use. After inspection the technician told me that the heater elements need to be replaced and they may not be easily available. He adviced me to get rid of this heater and install a new gas fired one. The estimates he gave me with different options were, 1. Tankless heater with water softener: $11630; 2. New gas fired heater with installation and 6 year service: $3674; 3. New gas fired heater with installation and one year service: $3179; 4. New electric water heater with installation and 3 year service: $2897; 5. New electric water heater with installation and 1 year service: $2699; 6. Replace elements: $916.67 The technician insisted that I better replace my heater. I paid him the visit fee $69 and said good-bye. I checked the avaialbility of the heating elements in Calgary. I got them from the manufacturer's dealer for $44. Installed myself after making some research on the net. It took me 40 min to install them. A professional plumber would do it in 20 min. So for $44 part and 20 min job Clearview quoated me $916.67. This is completely unethical and shameless practice. I gave them 1 in rating just because technician came on time and was quick to identify the problem and was nice to talk. The moral is, if you are going to Clearview do your homework before giving them any job.
