Love this kennel; more importantly, my two large dogs love this kennel. They go in happy, they come out happy... and tired from the activity and exercise. I have tried other kennels...my dogs would come home thirsty and having to poop every single time. Not with this kennel.

Well worth the drive!

With only a few days notice I called The Pet Inn and was happy to hear that they had room for our dog for a period of 4 days while we went out of town. I spoke briefly a few times with the owner before we brought our dog for boarding. I had never left our 6 year old dog at a kennel before. I was a bit upset and felt uneasy having to do so. The owner assured me that at The Pet Inn they take very good care of your pets. She went on to tell me about some of the amenities that the Inn offers. We asked what we should bring with us. we were told it was okay to bring the dogs kennel with him as we felt that it was something that might make him feel better having something from home. We asked about food and she said that we didnt have to bring food. I found this odd as we dont think it would be good to change his food for 4 days.We brought his own food with us, both dry and wet food that he usually gets everyday. I asked about dishes and she said you didnt have to bring any but if it made us feel better that he again have his own dishes, yes we could bring them. We had planned to bring our dog at 8:00 am prior to our departure on a road trip. The owner told us that she wouldnt personally be there but one of her staff would be and he was very good. We packed up our dog and his things and started on the long journey to the Pet Inn. The owner gave a verbal description on how to get there. It was about a 40 min drive......... after getting lost and not being able to call because of no cell service we finally found our way. It would have been nice to have a map emailed to us or at least a map on their Facebook site that you could print off. We were a little frazzled and so was our dog at the confusion of getting lost. So finally there and an older man came to greet us (I assume that he is the Veterinarian that lives on site that I think is the owners father) He didnt have much of a personality and seemed a bit short with the dogs that were already there.He yelled at them "Okay thats enough!!" when they were barking,,,,,,,um if you are around dogs all the time I'm sure you know that they bark when a new dogs comes in. He told us that we couldnt bring in the kennel and when we told him it was okayed for us to bring it he shoved the kennel into our dogs kennel area. He then told me to put my dog in because I know him and he doesnt. Okay I know my dog was going to be upset but to put him in there and to see the look on his face full of fear was awful. We then went back out to the homey area as they call it and were instructed by him to fill out paper work 4-5 pages long. Well the pen he gave me didnt work properly and the ink skipped so here i was trying to fill out this paper work and getting stressed because we were already late. Could the owner have not emailed this all to me before hand? All I was asked to bring was the dogs shots and kennel cough records nothing about this long form. I could have had it all ready. We finally left on our way and felt a bit uneasy but i had never left our dog with a stranger before so I knew i would feel this way. After our road trip we came to pick up our dog. We got there earlier that expected about 1 hour. When we arrived there was a younger girl there looking after the dogs (I could be wrong but she looked about 17) There were 3 big dogs loose in the homey/office area. When she went to get our dog and brought him out the big dogs were all over him. Could she have not put them in another room while we picked up our dog? We asked for all of his belongings back and she went and got them and amougnst the big dogs smelling and over powering ours we managed to grab our bag, kennel and our dog and slip out the door. Our dog seemed so stressed and cried the whole way home. When we got home we started to unpack the bag. There was more food in the bag that there should have been left. Even if the dog was upset and wasnt eating you should throw out the food and give him some fresh the next time to try again. Then his dish bowl holder only have one bowl in it instead of two. There was no way we were going to go all the way out there 40 min each way to pick it up. I sent a message on Facebook to the owner telling her we were missing one bowl. I got a very short response that seemed almost rude. I sent a measurement and description and asked that since they were so far away could she at sometime in the next few weeks drop it by my workplace at her convenience and it didnt matter if we were open or not just leave it at the door. She said she would I think in the next day or so,,,,,well you guessed it, it has been a few weeks and I have not heard a thing. I am not impressed with the service I received and I really dont know what happened when we left our dog there. I never did meet the loving owner. Does she even exist or is this place run by the young girl and the older man we meet that morning? I will never know as I will never leave my dog there again. Our next road trip, we have booked our dog to board at Lilac Grove.We went to check out the kennel and were feeling much better about leaving him there. They have a wonderful facility with competent staff. Hope this review helps
