It started off well. Brett is very nice and dropped by to quote another job. He looked at our hot water tank and the closet it was in. A young plumber showed up with the new tank, he’s also nice. Then everything fell apart. There’s no way one guy on his own can replace a used heavy 60 gal tank. So if your the homeowner, and you contract Callaway, then count on putting in 2 hours of heavy lifting and work. We got the old tank out of the closet with 2 of us lifting it out of the drip pan and 2 of us using a dolly to get it down 3 stairs and to the truck. It’s a miracle we didn’t break floor tiles but more about the floor later. Turns out the new tank is 1” wider than door to the closet, so now the homeowner has to rip out all the fancy molding and door jam from the closet. The new tank goes in, again needing the homeowner to help bring it up the 3 stairs and install it in the closet. In the process the plumber who has been walking in the house with old construction boots with exposed steel toes has scratched up the hardwood floors when he was working on his knees, he didn’t bring a blanket or anything to protect the floor. The blanket we had to provide was being used elsewhere in this project. What an absolute mess I’m left with to clean up and repair. Very disappointed and I would not recommend Callaway Plumbing.

As a follow up: The business owner (Brett) was responsive and came out to look at the damage. He sincerely apologized and put in a good effort into trying to get the scratches out of the floor. Ultimately he discounted our invoice to cover the cost of bringing in trades to fix the floor and door trim. An unfortunate situation but Brett showed some high standards and we parted on amicable terms.

Absolutely top notch service from Callaway plumbing. They were fast and efficient at fixing a water leak we had on our property. Jarret was great at keeping us updated on what was being done to remedy to leak. Will use then again without hesitation
