Further to my excellent experience with BrokerLink's Christine Mantik in having my claim accepted, I proceeded with repairing my sewer line.
Built in the late 1930s, it pretty much had given all in could and it was pretty beat up. With the weather extremes in Winnipeg, I was impressed on how long it lasted.
Finding a contractor to do the work is always a challenge. Of the 3 that I contacted, one declined outright, the other priced me out, while the last one offered a reasonable proposal. Unfortunately, his quote to replace the line did not include the removal and re-installation of my chain link fence, nor the carry off of the clay dirt that would be dug up.
The contract did not include the potential extra cost if there was any foundation problems. Anything to do with the foundation is expensive.
I tried another contractor, in this case, Mr. Rooter. When I called, I was greeted with pleasant helpful ladies, Maeghan who took the call, and Sara who handled the appointment for an estimate. Jake was the estimator, called in advance and came exactly at the time we arranged. There was no waiting around. While he was camera scoping, I asked him if he also used CIPP as an option. (My cousin alerted me to this procedure. The acronym stands for Cure in Place Piping where instead of digging out the pipe the line is cured from inside.
This eliminates the need to dig up your property and the expense of landscaping afterwards.) I had seen videos of this procedure online.
Jake said that his firm not only does this type of work but that he would recommend it for my sewer line.
An appointment to do the work was arranged and the crew of Chase, Brady, and Quinton came right on time, again no waiting around.
I was impressed with their clean attire, friendliness, and efficiency. What also caught my eye was the fact that their gear looked brand new.
I learned that they use down time to clean all their equipment. They were very nice and polite as well as easy to talk to.
I can't thank Mr. Rooter enough for having technical skill, talented and amiable staff, and quick work with the job.
They came at 8:00 AM and were done by 11:00 AM. They left my basement spotless like they were never there.
I would recommend anyone to use Mr. Rooter for any work involving underground projects.
PS also take advantage of their discounts and payment options.

I added the photos to show how well kept the equipment is.
The boxes held the balloons to be inserted into the sewer line.

Bailey was our front office contact who rocked the communication from beginning to end. She was kind, courteous and delivered our booking info with precision and detail.

Ben was our service tech. He presented all our options with clarity and answered all my lengthy questions with patience. He was brilliant in telling us what he knew about our situation, what he didn’t know and what he could guess at. His performance was quick and efficient. They even gave us a free bottle of grease cleaner for our drain.

This team is solid and I would call them again in a heartbeat.

I had an excellent experience with this company. They cleaned my home’s drain system and performed a CCTV camera inspection. Ben was very professional, courteous, and took the time to thoroughly explain the diagnosis. He identified the problem accurately and provided the right solution in a timely manner.

We had a fantastic experience with Mr. Rooter. They came out to clean our drains, and the entire process was professional, efficient, and thorough.

Our technician, Ben, was outstanding. He took the time to carefully diagnose a few additional issues we weren’t aware of, explained everything clearly without any pressure, and answered all of our questions. It was obvious he takes pride in doing the job right.

We really appreciated Ben’s honesty, knowledge, and attention to detail. It’s not often you come across service that’s both highly skilled and genuinely customer-focused. We left feeling confident that we understood the condition of our plumbing and the next steps, if needed.

We’re very pleased with the service we received and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Mr. Rooter—especially Ben—to anyone looking for reliable, professional plumbing service.

We recently had our sump pump replaced, and we couldn’t be happier with the service. Cassidee was professional, knowledgeable, and took the time to explain the issue and the replacement process clearly. She arrived on time, completed the work efficiently, and left the area clean when the job was finished.

It’s reassuring to know the job was done right, and the new sump pump is working perfectly. Cassidee’s attention to detail, quality workmanship, and friendly attitude made the entire experience stress-free. I highly recommend her services to anyone looking for a reliable and trustworthy plumber!

Hi. I would like to say how much my husband and I appreciate your company for being as quick as you could to come and fix our flood issue. You contacted me with updates as to the timing arrival of your service person. When he came, he was very polite. His name is Prabh. We were so impressed with his professionalism. He didn't waste any time and explained everything very well to my husband. Then he fixed the problem quickly and correctly. My husband and I could see that he knew his job very well. Thank you so much for everything and helping us to understand how we can prevent this problem in the future. Full star ratings from my husband and myself. Anne

We had a huge emergency plumbing situation in the middle of the night and Ahmad from Mr. Rooter plumbing came here very quickly to help us. He was extremely professional, knew exactly what had to happen and got to work. He could see the urgency required and worked extremely hard to help. He not only fixed the problem temporarily but offered the solution that he came to install a few days later. He was empathetic and even though he probably worked 24 hours straight, he was calm and very nice. Highly recommend!

Devon was the man. He found a toy tea cup my son had flushed down the toilet when 6 others had failed. Outstanding gentleman and scholar of the art of the Plumb. 5 star review.

We had a clogged kitchen sink issue and were very happy with the service we received from Sujit at Mr. Rooter.

Sujit took the time to thoroughly assess the problem and suggested a long-term solution rather than just a quick fix. He worked carefully, paid attention to detail, and explained everything clearly throughout the process.

The service was professional, efficient, and gave us peace of mind. Highly recommended!

I want to commend this fabulous team for all the amazing work they provided to me this past week. Today they completed a full sewer pipe replacement. From the initial call in after hours that my drain wasn't draining, to the discovery of my collapsed pipe (Devon and Jake - who were both incredibly gentle and empathetic about the situation). The install team of Scott, Ryan and James were incredible. They kept me informed all the way through, clean up was spotless, and they were on time and worked so hard. Absolutely superb at every step. I am very grateful with how fast they responded and walked me through what to expect. Would 100% recommend them to everyone.
