I hate wearing makeup, and as a result, I never do. It all started at around the age of 10, when my mom introduced me to my first mani/pedi.
The pretty nail colors, the bonding with mom, the foot massage... oh the foot massage. There’s only one word to describe the way I felt after my first ever mani/pedi; HOOKED. Little did I know that this one hour of pleasure and two week lasting nail color was actually doing me more harm than good?
A couple of years ago, just a few months after my 20th birthday, I noticed my nails were starting to become yellow and a tad brittle. This wasn’t normal for me. I’ve always had healthy, thick nails.
I went to the doctor to have both my feet and hands looked at. Yup, you guessed it. I had a fungal infection!
The doctor referred me to Canada MedLaser. These treatments were not covered through my insurance or OHIP, but he said that CML provides the best service for a VERY reasonable price. He was not kidding.

As a teenager, I had the oiliest skin you could possibly imagine. You could put me out in the sun, crack an egg on my face, and make yourself a nice, greasy omelette if ever in desperate measures. (I should state that this was not a common practice).
Words could not describe how frustrating it was. I tried several drugs to help get rid of my acne, but they all worked only temporarily. Needless to say that when I hit my mid 20’s, my face was full of acne scars. I’ve been looking for a solution ever since. Over the last few years, I began to notice that I was getting a few veins under my nose. They were spreading and becoming darker. I didn’t realize this, but this was actually due to my smoking. I came to CML for a consultation, and they let me know that the longer I wait to get rid of my veins the darker and more stubborn to remove they may get. Naturally, I was talked into getting a vein removal package. This had to have been the best decision I have ever made. To me, a facial always seemed like a waste of time. I never believed in it, and honestly thought it was a scam that spas run to make a quick buck. I got a gift certificate for my 40th birthday at Canada Medlaser for a facial last June, so of course, I took advantage of the gift and used it. I had a thorough consultation with Margarita before the treatment began, and we discussed my skin concerns (dryness, flakiness). She had told me that my best option is to go for a chemical peel. It got me a little nervous, but she assured me that there is no risk or downtime to the peel I would be having that day. She upgraded the treatment for me for free (as it was my first time). It was the most relaxing hour of my life. I had the pleasure of receiving a full facial in conjunction with the peel, and my skin has never looked or felt better.
