They are very dishonest. I have a good dental plan (100% coverege with Bluecross.) I took my child for the first dental visit. They said they require 20% upfront and when my insurance pays them, they will send me a cheque. So, they charged my card $11.50 (which is an odd number since it is not even 20% of the visit total of $104.60) Turns out that the insurance paid the amount minus -11.50 . So, they knowingly deceived me. And it is not about being a pediatric/specialist as my insurance pays their higher specialist fees anyways. They overcharged me on the x-ray. (if they took only one x-ray the amount was going to be right, but they knew for 2 or 3 x-rays , the second exam rate is reduced as per provincial dental fee guide but they haven't done so and hid that from me) I also felt they were tricky and dishonest in terms of the future treatment plan. I took my other kids to another place and haven't paid a penny out of pocket and know that they won't try to take advantage of me.
