20/20 vision has always been my lifetime dream.
Finally, last August, Lasik agreed to laser my right-eye only in a procedure called monovision. Monovision works by using the right-eye for distance and leaving the untreated left-over for reading. The total treatment before tax equals $1,640 which took two years to save. Lasik Vision Ltd then setup an appointment four weeks away.
Meantime my right-eye mysteriously had a PVD (retinal detachment) that required laser eye surgery at Eye Institute. During my recovery, Lasik kindly agreed to reschedule my laser eye correction to a later date as the eye floaters cleared up.
Now nine months later, my right eye was ready for this long-awaited vision correction so I walked back in their Laurier Ave clinic with the agreement. All I needed was the surgery date but the current Lasik Sales Representative handed me a different bill of $2,690, a huge increase of $1,040 over our agreed contract. A big disappointment since now I have to wait another year to save $100/month as I have low income.
