I called today to request an adjournment for tomorrow, because I broke my leg on September 6th and didn't receive my notice of hearing until after my second surgery, over a week later, so I was unable to find an attorney, as I'm on ODSP and they require me to meet in person for them to take my case. I have depression and anxiety and a broken leg that doesn't allow any weight-bearing. My parents live 2 hours north of Toronto and work day jobs so transportation is difficult, especially since my town offers no public transportation (Go, Via, etc.). The lawyer repeatedly called me an "idiot", and asked me if I was a "boy or a man" because my parents are taking care of me after a severe tibial fraction, which has rendered me pretty immobile. He also stated that I was going to lose (even though there's another tenant on the notice and the notice of hearing is addressed improperly) and challenged me to prove my disability over the phone. He then accused me of harassment and kept hanging up on me after pretending to not be able to hear what I said.

I hope that this is not indicative of his professionalism in the courtroom, or there will be a lot of dissatisfied clients.
