We closed our house purchase through Domenic Maio Law office last year in September 2019. And it wasn't until almost 6 months later that we had noticed that we didn't receive our property tax bill from the city. So I called City of Markham and found out that our ownership was not even changed! After I discovered this, I was trying really hard to reach Domenic. But the phone was always busy and we never got a reply. So I sent him an email about it. Finally, he said he will send our documents to the city again. But then it never reached the city and he didn't follow up and verify with the city again. In the end, I had to call the city and forward the documents to them myself. As a result, we received a property tax bill with a transfer fee and an addition of a late penalty fee. We were not informed about the transfer fee. I then emailed Domenic again in regards to the transfer fee from the city, in reply, he said I needed to pay by myself! And when I further asked him about the penalty through the email, he never replied me anymore... He failed to inform us about the transfer fee. Had we known it ahead of time, he could have asked us to pay the transfer fee upfront in order to process the documents if it wasn't covered by Domenic. But no, he neglected to transfer our property ownership over. More importantly, he failed to take responsibility on our file causing penalty and ignoring to pay for his mistake!

Domenic was able to get a final settlement for me from the former owners of my home on a buried oil tank that was not disclosed in the home purchase. I found Domenic to be very professional and persevered over a six month time frame to reach a settlement. He was always very quick to get back to me on any questions or issues and his rates were very reasonable. I would definitely recommend Domenic as a lawyer to hire.

Domenic helped me close on my first home today, I was able to reach Domenic at anytime when I had any questions regarding my first purchase. He was very informative and patient and his rates for his services are very fair. Looking forward to purchasing my next investment property with Domenic in the near future.
