Ar Rahman Tax & Accounting is a good place to file your taxes because they solved my problems. The staff are very kind and friendly. I would recommend this place to anyone that need to do their taxes. It is low fee and they like to help other people that have problems with their taxes or need to do their taxes.

***** WARNING***** If I could put "0 stars" I would have, unfortunately it wont let me post so I had to put something.
I have gone to this place (located in Markham and Lawrence in Scarborough) the past 3 years or so, along with other members of my family to do our income taxes. In 2014 my sister and I got audited, in result I had to pay the amount of $1500 to CRA. I was there last night to do my taxes and I was inquiring about the line that caused my sister and I to get audited in the previous year. I was simply letting them know that as per the CRA agent only one (me or my sister) can claim on that line under a household. When I had mentioned this to Ali, he screamed at me and said " I cannot teach you taxation law, if you want me to teach you taxation law I charge $480 !!" At this point I thought he was joking because I've never been spoken to in that manner. I then responded "I did not ask you to teach me taxation law, I am simply asking to not claim on that certain line to avoid getting audited". Ali then shouted back; "My time is precious and for $18.00 this is not worth my time. I pay my staff $15.00/hr!!" I then tried to explain again that I was not looking for an explanation, and to simply avoid claiming on that line as per the CRA agent. He then said "This is not a simple question, you can go somewhere else! I don't care if you've been here for many years!!". As I was walking out, I spoke to a lady receptionist at the front desk (who initially did the E-file) and I asked her why he was so mad? She responded that's just how he is. I cannot accept this response, whether I am paying for $18 or $1800 service, I believe that the job as an "accountant" is to help there clients, not to dismiss them. I did not proceed with filing my taxes with them and still paid the $20.00, ($18.00 + tax). I could have walked out, but I had felt bad as the receptionist was very nice and apologized on his behalf. I was worried that if I didn't pay, Ali seemed like the man that would with hold her $15/hour earning. I then followed up this morning to ensure that they would not file my taxes as I went to a real accountant to file. The receptionist who I spoke with (not the same receptionist as before) asked if I was going somewhere else due to the fact that I was getting a larger refund amount. I told her no. She then said "Let me guess, Ali fought with you and said something about a taxation law". I did not want to bring this up to the new receptionist but she had mentioned it before I could even say anything. I told her yes that is the reason. She then apologized and said that's how he is. I told her that I was asking a question and for some reason he took offense to it. I am assuming that this is the typical behavior from Ali. I feel so bad for his staff as I am a client paying for service and I felt abused. He probably treats his staff members even worse for them to constantly apologize on his behalf for his unprofessional, and unpleasant behavior. I never write nor post a review. I think people need to know what they are dealing with. Regardless that it is only $20.00, I would suggest to pay a little bit more to get a piece of mind that your taxes are being done right and correctly. My new accountant was very helpful and explained everything to me without charging me a "$480.00 taxation law fee". This is my experience from him, I also have a few friends that I regret referring due to his low fees who also got audited in the past year. (They of course no longer go there to file)

I own a Small Business and I was recommended by my friend (who also owns a business) to file my taxes at AR RAHMAN Tax and Accounting located at Markham and Lawrence, and I was completely satisfied with the reasonable rates they have and the quickness in which they completed my business tax return. I just started my business and I was concerned about my taxes but now I feel completely relieved because I went to the right place. I recommend others to go to AR RAHMAN TAX and ACCOUNTING for their accounting needs ranging from personal to business tax returns.
