I had booked Empire previously with no issues until last week. On 8/9/2016 I booked a car for two passengers for p/u at 4am for an early flight out of Newark 5 days later. Received my confirmation email and allowed 2 hours before my flight. Car never showed at the scheduled time, I promptly called dispatch- Tanya put my on extend hold trying to locate driver and came back and said " sorry he isn't picking up there is nothing I can do for you" I explained I was traveling with 100% disabled veteran and asked her to send some other car or at minimum help locate a taxi since we weren't from the area- she refused and said- sorry there is nothing I can do for you. I called three times and they flatly refused to help. Uber wasn't available that early- I missed my flight at a rebooking additional expense of $1056 and it took 41 hours in Newark airport before we could get another flight home. The promised a supervisor would call me back- never called. I did find out the driver overslept and that is why the car never showed. So he was so fatigued and overworked he couldn't get to work as scheduled - nor did he hear his phone or alarm. Does that sound like someone who you would entrust to safeguard your family? I hope my fellow yelpers will consider - what if this were you and your children, your elderly parents, a special needs child? If this company doesn't care about assisting a disabled veteran- they won't care about you either. Read their mission statement on the website- it's a far cry from reality.
