I went to see Dr. Zelnak for a second opinion regarding a treatment plan after surgery for a recurrence of breast cancer. Even though biopsies and other tests indicated that it was the result of a cell from the original cancer that wasn't stopped by chemo and a hormone blocker, Dr. Zelnak made no assumptions. Instead, she shared details from the reports that were likely nothing to worry about but shouldn't be dismissed. She doesn't go by just what the typical protocols are for determining treatment, but instead scrutinizes your INDIVIDUAL profile. This is exactly what I was looking for in a second opinion. It's not necessarily what one would want to hear, but it's most comforting to me knowing that no stone will be left unturned. She also is extremely personable and treats the patient as a partner in decision-making. She shared the predictability tools that are used to make informed decisions by plugging in specific numbers from one's test results instead of just giving a plan without explaining the reason for the decision. She genuinely wants the patient to learn and understand about her specific situation. I will be switching to Dr. Zelnak as my new oncologist. I highly recommend Dr. Zelnak.

Yesterday was my first meeting with Dr Zelnak and I really loved her. I was so relieved because she will be taking care of me for the next 5+ years. I’ve never had a doctor sit down and the first thing she says is for me to tell her about myself…where I grew up, what I do for work, family, etc. She then went through the course of treatment and allowed plenty of time for me to go through my prepared questions. I never felt rushed. I just really liked her and am so confident with her as my doctor. Highly recommend!

Dr. Zelnak is a great doctor. I can’t thank her enough for saving my Life. I met her on a Wednesday and my treatment started a week later. She doesn’t play about her patients and you just don’t come across doctors like that anymore. I can never thank her enough. First photo 2 days before chemo started. Second photo first day of chemo. Third photo last day of chemo. Fourth photo last week. I’m 4 years Cancer free all because Dr. Zelnak didn’t waste any time and we got the job done.
