I also communicate a plan of care, so patients understand fully why we are doing testing, bloodwork, medications, or other treatments. Finally, I always clarify any questions or other concerns before a patient leaves the office.

My approach as a Pediatrician is to have the child involved in the visit as much as possible, no matter how young. A giggle. A cry. A tug on my stethoscope.
