I stopped by Duffy Tavern and immediately loved the welcoming, cozy atmosphere. I ordered the wings and fries, and they were delicious (you can never go wrong with that combo)! The service was amazing, and our server, Chilita, was incredibly friendly and attentive, checking in on us throughout our meal. Great food, outstanding service, and a wonderful experience overall. I’ll definitely be back next time in Toronto! :)

Watched the Fifa match today, first time at this pub. Food was okay (got wings and fries) beer was cold and service was excellent. Beth was AMAZING, she has the most calm, kind, attentive service. Shes a true professional in the industry, thank you Beth!

Watch your bill like a hawk. Not one, not two, but three of us at our table of 5 had extra charges on our bills. It could’ve been innocent - but that’s a really high error rate. To their credit they fixed it without an issue by refunding only the pretax amount with a couple of cents added on. For example 2 beers refunded were $15 pretax and my refund was $15.60. But it should’ve been $16.95 with tax and that still doesn’t factor the 18% tip on those 2 beers I never drank bringing it to $20. So they still got to keep $4.40 extra for their “mistake.”

This would normally constitute an immediate 1 star across the board - but the thing is there’s still redeeming qualities in this local watering hole. There’s good value in the drinks (though I’d avoid the taps as the cups sometimes smell like a fishy rag was used to wipe them dry) and food.

Just check your bill before you pay! Have them fix the bill before you pay and you’ll be fine. Paying after? Then make sure you calculate how much you’re supposed to get back including the tip on the items you were overcharged.

Could’ve been a simple mistake that happened 3 out of 5 times at one table - who knows - I’m still never paying without triple checking my bill here - and I will definitely be back. Solid 2.5 out of 5 stars.

PS they hold the record for the world’s smallest wings! Also guys… season your fries!

We went to Duffy's Tavern to hear our bandmates play. After having 1 draft beer & 1 lager the bartender said he wouldn't serve me anymore. I asked why? He said he didn't have to tell me. Then he said I was intoxicated. I only had 2 beers so I was very surprized! This has NEVER happened to me before! Later, as my husband and I were getting ready to leave and waiting for the drummer in our band to get his coat, my husband asked who the rude bartender was. I pointed to him. The bartender started yelling at us"Get Out! Get Out! You have no reason to be here!" Yes we did as we were waiting for our friend,the singer/drummer.
This bartender has to be the rudest bartender in Toronto. He isn't able to tell the difference between a sober customer and a drunk customer. Terrible employee for a bar that makes it's income selling beer and good times. I'll never return. I'll make sure our band and the other bands playing that night know it's not a welcoming good place to play nor drink.

Came to watch the Jays on tv. There was some issues with the sound not working, but they figured it out eventually. The crowd is always laid back. I wish there wings were bigger, I always feel disappointed..I'm not sure why I continue to order them, I'm a glutton for punishment. There not terrible, just real small. I've been going to this place since I was a teenager in the late 90s (it holds alot of my memories) different times, different crowd, different owners.. but they served me underage so I'm loyal to the spot lol.
++My price per person is alcohol based (4 beers an cheap Wings night)

Great pub with accommodating staff. Fillings meals and solid drinks. I've been for booked events as well as just passing by and the space feels lively and easy going while cares for. Appreciate spaces like this very much.

Easily my favourite bar in the city, been coming here for years. Reserved a few tables for a birthday get-together, and they were so accommodating and easygoing (Maurice took excellent care of us). Cozy atmosphere, cheap beer, and the music never disappoints. Perfect place to just hang out with some buds and shoot some pool.

Our last few visits here ( a couple of years ago) left us disappointed . But we decided to try again, and are so glad we did! The restaurant interior seems to have been refreshed; we sat on the enclosed porch, which had a pleasant, warm ambience. There were several appealing new choices on the menu, plus the old favorites. My Faroe Island salmon with lemon risotto was fantastic! I hope they make it a regular menu offering, because I would love to have it again. Husband had the Duffy burger and curly fries, dependably tasty. Our server, Brett, was attentive, pleasant and professional. We look forward to returning. Try it again, if you haven't been there lately.

I'm really upset with this bar. It used to be amazing, The food the last 3 times has been God Awful .... I'm gonna leave my old post up..... just to show the way it used to be. And the bartender even told me before he charged me 44 dollars that they had an issue before me..... They should not have gotten rid of the staff they had before.. Just odd how fast it changed.......Love catching them on wing and fish and chip night, Can't complain about anything I've had there.. Really nice place. I just have a feeling some people have run out on their bill there. But the food is great, I will say this tavern is definitely worth a visit, you will wanna keep going back.

We stopped by Duffy’s for a drink, and I honestly have no idea how this place is still operating as a bar.

First off, the service was actually decent — our server was friendly and doing her best. But when we asked what bottled beer they had, she said they only have a few draft options. Weird, but okay. Then we asked about wine. Nope, none. Canned spritzers? None. Cider? One option that tasted like straight-up sugar.

Someone in our group got a local beer, and I ordered a vodka soda with lime — it came without lime because they were out. So, basically vodka and water. At a bar. No lime. No wine. No options. It’s like the place is allergic to having drinks.

I’ve been a regular at this bar and always appreciated the great management and especially the amazing Brazilian girl on the night staff — she’s a star. But I had a really disappointing experience recently during a Monday afternoon visit with a server named Paola. When the weather got hot, I was served a warm beer. I politely asked to exchange it, but Rosa was extremely rude. She refused to listen, walked away, and even told me I had no right to ask for a colder beer. It wasn’t about bar policy — it was about basic respect and customer service. I’ve never been treated like that here before, and it was really upsetting.

The bill was over $100, switching the beer and please the customer goes a long way, being rude just makes life and service harder, I was planning on staying for at least a couple more hours. Sad service for a great place.

Good with special requests, great tasting burger but the fries were tough as nails. Not soft and on the beefier side as the other review photos would appear to suggest.
