In Newmarket Renoir, I could tell from Friday tour & interview, I want to live here Forever!
Unlike ads, ladies were bent over walkers. One was in a wheelchair outside the front door. In this hot July, she now sits by the elevator. Both are where most pass.
I've met 2 fit men who came with walkers & now stride swiftly without. The darlingest small black "puppy" (years old with white hair) wags a fluffy tail for all, and leads her to people behind on their brisk walks.
Families are very involved. Great-grand-kids visit, call gramma & Opa, then hug her round the waist, and Opa below his knees. With an adult, they all may join activities.
Online is a virtual tour of suites & measurements. The small bachelor is perfect for me, with storage to spare. My balcony is few inches wide, but my full-wall window is just as wide.
Every day I meet helpful people! On day one, floor 5 guide introduced me to her tablemates. At supper, I met two ladies who go to nightly 7:30 films on floor C, "Cinema" to me. So I went with. Floor 5 lady "83? or 82?" (?) said she was the first to attend; last night the Cinema was almost full!
After a week I eat more and sleep less. Unlike USA, we can drink. Tonight at a long table in the adjoining bar, was the "red and white" club, where any who like wine can come and go.
Residents, visitors, staff are all kind, friendly, caring. I love stories. I have plenty to hear. A lady over 100 in the cinema put on her native Scottish Highland voice for me. Laughter is everywhere!
I have more news for later ....

My husband & I have been enjoying our new home at the Renoir. From the time we took our residential tour we felt the warmth and quietness the surrounding and living areas offered. Being unsure of moving from a three bedroom home to a one bedroom apartment seemed rather daunting, but our tour guide was able to put forth the pros and cons regarding life time changes for both of us.The Renoir has much to offer- no more planning or cooking meals, lots of social activities, exercise classes to keep health. Bus trips are offer monthly for shopping, outings, etc. There is even a movie theater for a movie nite out. For us it's the warmth and quietness the Renoir offers us and I guess it was the parting hug I received from our tour guide that brought us to our new home Thank- you Marla and the Renoir staff. My life at The Renoir.
When I opened the door to the suite I had been offered my heart was filled with joy as the far โwallโ was a huge window flooding the space with sunshine. I was delighted when I discovered how much of this window would open to provide fresh air.
Upon deciding to accept the tenancy, my son and I set about planning how best to utilise the available space. My son, Nick started measuring and deciding which items of my furniture could be used for maximum comfort and efficiency. After Nick moved everything I needed, I set about unpacking and using my artistic flair to render the suite totally attractive.
The Renoir itself has furniture and furnishings which are aesthetically pleasing and the building is designed to offer comfort and security. Making oneโs way from one activity to another, there are no hidden hazards to spoil oneโs day. The staff go that extra mile to offer advice, comfort and safety at all times. I love being greeted by my first name by so many. The waiting staff are understanding and so very patient with the residents which brings me to the excellent food. I like the fact that we meet with the Chef and the Activities Co-ordinator to suggest even more culinary delights and activities that weโd enjoy. Three cooked meals a day, housekeeping, some laundry, trips, activities and entertainment coupled with the chance to make friends make the Renoir lifestyle hard to beat.
Iโd like to thank Marla and Meirav for making my transition to this residential home so smooth: Mark too has made a difference in a new way of life.
Come join me at The Renoir!

I have been at the Renoir for a year and a half, and it has been a great journey. The staff is exceptional. They have been attentive and helpful in so many ways. I have made several good friends, all of whom have contributed to a sense of community. All in all, I'm glad to be here.
