I had multiple phone calls with Coastal prior to my procedure. Because I live so far away from Coastal, I was told to come half an hour earlier than the normal 90 minutes (so 2 full hours early) so they could complete bloodwork. Each time I spoke to someone, they confirmed from their computer screen that I MUST arrive 30 minutes earlier.
I did explain this to the front desk person at check in but they just told me to sit. I checked back a couple of times because I knew that, based on my procedure time, they needed time to process my bloodwork. She kept saying "they know you're here and we don't have an order for that.
About 45 minutes after my arrival a nurse came from the back calling my name. She was PISSED that the check in people had NOT notified anyone that I was there. The surgeon had literally been waiting for me thinking I was late the entire time.
It worked out okay but I'm not sure how I could have better advocated for myself.
The surgical team (nurses, techs, anesthetist and doc) were great and explained everything in a way that we could easily grasp so all is well that ends well but, jeez, check in was a nightmare.

Dr Downey was great. Professional, Knowledgeable and caring.
She found lumps in my breast n sent me for ultrasound. I needed 3 biopsies. All negative but she found them. She’s wonderful doctor.

Dr Downey is totally awesome! She listens to you and addresses all your concerns very thoroughly. She is extremely knowledgeable and explains everything to the finest detail!! And the staff is very welcoming and friendly.

She's the best...hands down! I felt so welcomed by the staff and Dr. Downey was very thorough and seemed genuinely concerned about some of my issues that brought me there. She listened! A lot of doctors don't like to listen, but she did. I am extremely pleased and grateful.

Dr. Downey is awesome! I felt she really cared about my concerns. She is also very knowledgeable and helpful as far as preventative medicine. I never felt rushed as she made sure she answered all my questions. Excellent physician!
