Do yourself a favor and shop around.
I was with Amica for 10 years, and they raised my homeowners insurance premium by nearly $4,000. I got a quote from USAA, and not only did they value my home at roughly $200,000 more than Amica did, but my annual premium was only a few hundred dollars more than Amica’s increase.
Loyalty doesn’t always pay. Get quotes from multiple companies and make them earn your business. At the end of the day, insurance companies are businesses, and it’s up to you to make sure you’re getting the best value for your money.

After many years of paying premiums with Amica, we've had nothing but great marks for them, but what they just did to us to terrible and par for what is happening to customer service across the globe. No one cares anymore! Let me first start with them deciding to not insure folks living on the coast, I get that, but is is fair to let other insurance companies carry that risk? It's just like health care, the big pool helps keep rates down, but whatever. So for over 15 years we've had to purchase our home insurance with other agencies since we've been living on the coast, less than 3 miles away! This year our home owner policy went through the roof, so I went on a search to try and find a better rate. AAA said, if you bundle everything, I could save you a lot of money, so before I did I called Amica to see if they would at least offer some kind of lower rate, something to show they wanted to keep our business, 2 cars, one RV and two boats! The response..."that's great that you are saving money!" That's it? So we moved all our insurance over to AAA! So today we get a notice from DMV we don't have insurance. Amica put in the wrong date for cancelation and now we have to pay a 102.00 fine! When I called Amica to try and get them to help us change that date to the correct date, they said, they would have to "investigate it" Which is insurance speak is delay, until it's too late to do anything! My wife said she was going to call and complain, but I told her why bother, they don't care, no companies care.

I work with a towing service that brought one of their customers to our shop. I cannot rave enough about how wonderful it was to work with them. A small hiccup led to a call and follow up email, and they found the solution in less than 24 hours and were friendly and professional the entire time. I cannot say enough how much people should focus on how easy their insurance company solves problems. This company is top tier.

I find their employees very courteous on the phone and wait times fairly short, but no one seems to know what they’re doing. This last time we called which Specialty Pharmacy Amica recommends because I need a specialty medication. The employee at first did not know what a Specialty Pharmacy was but then told me a wrong one (Amica declined to pay when the script was sent there). Nearly two weeks later, I’m just now getting news we’ve located a pharmacy that will accept the medication. Thank goodness I don’t have cancer.

My husband and I have had Amica for almost 15 years. In that time I’ve had two car accidents and two cracked windshields. Every time the customer service is beyond amazing and everyone is so helpful. I’m always recommending Amica because there prices can’t be beat.
