They increased my storage unit price by $150 over a few months without notifying me this is ridiculous. When I asked him why this happened . They told me because it was because of market conditions.... what a bunch of bull.

It’s a nice facility BUT..
They raise the rent every 6 months, meaningfully. I’m moving out today.
Check this before you rent.

Update on response from SmartStop. I have already called the office and was told this is the policy and they would end my contract at the end of the month at my request.

It has been a pleasure doing business with Smart Shop Storage Oakville, the responsiveness has been excellent and the customer service was exceptional- special mention of Jessica who was extremely helpful from start to end explaining each and every step a customer would need to access the unit.
Not to mention the best promotional prices I received
Though this place was far from my home, i chose it on top of many storage places in and around Mississauga because it is very clean, well lit , safe and price is great
I chose the 10*15 unit and i absolutely love it

Extremely disappointed in this company. Really wanted to like them but was let down from the first day. Paperwork was onerous to begin with - such a long and unneeded process. But the real kicker was seeing the "8x10" unit I rented - it was nowhere near 8 x 10! I measured and it was just shy of 7ft on one dimension and only 9 ft on the other! The young man showing me the unit said that the "measurements were approximate!" How about not even close!? I asked for a different unit, one that actually measured 8x10 as that was what I rented but he said there were none available. I asked him to discount the unit for the fact that it was much smaller than advertised and he refused. Once I clear out this unit I will not rent from this company again. Definitely dishonest in their operations and unwilling to make things right. My advice: seek out a different storage company.

Do not rent here. If I could give 0 stars I would. They have raised my fees by more than $100 in less than a year. Beware they can raise your fees however much they please and whenever or as often as they’d like and they will certainly take advantage of this clause. They have have raised my fees twice in less than year with a $60 monthly increase each time. They do not prioritize keeping their customers happy long term. If you’d like to work with a business who has no values, you’ve found just the one right here.

SCAM AVOID AT ALL COSTS. They have our credit card on file but they charged us a late fee. They claimed our credit card was not working, and when I asked why they didn't contact us, they said they tried leaving phone calls and emails. First, we have no record of phone calls in our office. Second, the email she repeated back was wrong. Either their admin is incompetent or it was on purpose. Then, after two weeks when the late fee was applied, our credit card magically went through. Not even before the next bill cycle. Jessica the manager was unprofessional, I'm very disappointed.

Jessica at the Oakville Store was always terrific to deal with. Most accommodating and available if any questions or concerns. My decision to move everything out of my two lockers came down to SmartStop price increases that seemed to occur weekly.

Just started renting my unit today. The whole process was very straightforward. Pricing was clear on the website, no call to reserve hassle. I was able to sign up, reserve the unit and complete the lease in 5 mins. Jessica from the the office then called, walked me through the lease agreement and then handed my access code. She also offered to walk me to the unit, show me around the facility and where to find the dollies. 10/10 is my first impression and first experience.
