I am very disappointed with the quality of the food compared to what this restaurant used to serve a couple of years ago. The portions have changed significantly, and unfortunately not for the better.
I ordered the special fried rice, and it was mostly rice with very little meat. I could hardly find any shrimp or chicken in the dish. It felt like the amount of protein was drastically reduced while the amount of rice increased.
I also ordered the shrimp by the pound, and the quality was not what I expected. The portion size was much smaller than it used to be, and the overall quality seemed to have declined. For the price, I expected a much better product and a more generous portion.
In addition, several menu items that I used to enjoy have been removed. Part of what made this restaurant special was its variety and consistency, and it is disappointing to see those options gone.
I would really like to understand what happened to Mambo over the last few years. The food quality, portions, and overall value are not the same as they once were. I hope management takes customer feedback seriously and works to restore the quality and experience that made so many customers loyal to this restaurant.

I had a great experience at Mambo’s Seafood in Baytown. The food was flavorful and fresh especially the seafood dishes, which were cooked just right and well seasoned. The portions were generous, and everything came out hot and quickly.
The atmosphere was lively and welcoming, making it a good spot for both family meals and casual outings. The staff was friendly and attentive, though service slowed down a bit during peak hours.
Overall, it’s a solid place for seafood if you’re in the area. I’d definitely come back again!

Rosario was an amazing host! From the moment we sat down she made us feel super welcome and checked on us the whole time. She recommended the Juicy Margarita and I’m so glad we listened because it was honestly one of the best margaritas I’ve had — perfectly sweet, refreshing, and the chamoy/tajín rim was 🔥.
Great service, great vibes, and great drinks. If you come here, definitely ask for Rosario and try the Juicy Margarita — you won’t regret it! 🍹

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Un Encuentro de Sabores: Mexican Soul with an Asian Heart.
What makes Mambo truly unique—and why I keep coming back—is that signature "Mambo Style." It is a masterful fusion; they’ve managed to marry the bright, acidic heat of Mexican seafood with a subtle, savory Asian twist that creates a flavor profile you won't find anywhere else. It truly is the best of both worlds.
Our spread was a feast for the senses:
The Classics: The Mambo Shrimp are iconic for a reason—perfectly seasoned and addictive. The Bacon Wrap Shrimp provided that decadent crunch that every seafood lover craves. The Negra Aguachiles had a deep, earthy heat of the dark sauce against the fresh shrimp is pure poetry. And We couldn't resist the Seafood Empanadas, which were flaky and stuffed to perfection, and the Elotes Street Corn, which brought that authentic taste of the plaza to our table. The Shrimp Cocktail was bright and bracing, and we washed everything down with a perfectly blended Strawberry Daiquiri that cut through the spice beautifully.
Mambo isn't just a meal; it’s a culture clash in the best way possible. It’s sophisticated yet soulful. Whether you’re a local or just passing through Baytown, this is a must-stop for anyone who appreciates mariscos with a creative edge.
