There's no obvious number to call the West Salem USPS, and calling the 800 number is a nightmare. The phone tree does not give an option to talk to a real person (nor did it give me an option for the service I needed, a notary, which USPS is supposed to have), and when I tried saying "talk to agent," the tree simply said "Thanks for calling, bye" and hung up on me. Guess I'm going to UPS.

Horrible people here! withholding mail, not delivering packages, arbitrability closing mail boxes! no one here is any help and they need to hire all new people willing to help people. lived in West Salem for 20 years and have had so many bad experiences i have lost count. Avoid them like the plague! close your mailboxes and just have UPS or amazon deliver you packages!!!!!! wish i could give them a 0 star review.

Very rude and try to blame you when their mail carriers are unprofessional. Keep getting wrong people in my box, carrier writing on things and also trying to put a vacant slip when I haven't moved twice. Customer service is no help. Told me I have to stop being rude when the only thing I left was "being petty really isnt worth it". I dont get paid the carriers do along with benefits so maybe they could be a little nicer, more professional. Oh and actually talk to me instead of a half thought about email.

Newest thing that happened: 1/15/26 mail carrier added a random last name onto my tag in my mailbox... without anyone saying anything. I don't know anyone by the last name Bull or Lowery.

I don't know if I'm spelling her name right, but Chrystle does a wonderful job and is really friendly every time I go in. She's like this with every interaction I've seen her in, just incredibly kind. The staff here work quickly and efficiently. They all deserve raises for their hard work! Thank you West Salem team!

My medication was lost - tracking number says it was delivered to even though it wasn’t. Submitted an inquiry Tracy the supervisor said he would check with the mail carrier and follow up- this was on a Monday, it is now WEDNESDAY and nothing. So I go to the post office in person. They supposedly reached out to Tracy who claimed he spoke to my mail carrier and they have been unable to locate it. So I ask for something stating it was lost- they tell me file a claim. I ALREADY DID THAT. No help !!! So I have submitted a claim to consumer affairs through the USPS maybe they can figure out a way to expedite the process when a piece of mail is lost. Especially when that is a medication. They are lucky that my medication is not something that is a controlled substance or a medication that is hard to refill due to potential abuse and is something I can MAYBE get refilled again!
