I wanted to recognize one of the employees at the Fairlawn, Ohio Post Office for an act of kindness that has stayed with me ever since I witnessed it on Friday, May 15, 2026.

While I was there mailing a package, an elderly gentleman came in to check his P.O. Box. The employee greeted him warmly and mentioned that she hadn't seen him in a while. He became emotional and shared that his wife of many years had recently passed away.

There wasn't anything she could do to change his circumstances, but what she did next spoke volumes. She took the time to listen, asked if he had family or friends nearby to support him, and when he shared that he didn't, she simply offered her compassion, her presence, and a hug.

In a world where everyone seems to be in a hurry, she reminded me how much a few minutes of genuine kindness can mean to someone who is hurting. It was one of the most sincere examples of empathy and customer service I've ever witnessed.

I don't know her name, but I hope this review reaches her or her supervisor. She represents the very best of the U.S. Postal Service, and the Fairlawn community is fortunate to have someone like her serving its customers. Her kindness and humanity made a lasting impression on me, and I hope she receives the recognition she deserves.

It's also worth recognizing her colleagues, who graciously stepped in to assist the other customers while she gave this gentleman the time and compassion he needed.

I have been provided excellent service from every postal agent at this location over the last 15 years, without fail. Though long lines seem to occur frequently, the agents always seem to be in a good mood and willing to help out any way they can. No complaints here.

Dropped off a ups package on accident. Usually I would understand the total loss of the item, however, I called and they assured me they would hand it over to ups via weekly pickup or Dropbox same day near their location. They even stated they would call the postman running the route to set it aside. Package was never handed off. Assuming trashed or stolen at this point.

This post office has definitely improved from recent years. Several kind and helpful staff, including Jordan, who always goes above and beyond helping customers! This location definitely needs updated and some staff need trained on handling packages while putting them in collection bins.

It's a post office. There's a 24-hour stamp machine. 24 hour package and mail drop-off. PO Boxes. During normal hours the rest of the services can be received from the desk:
