'17 Yukon XL transmission rebuilt - Amazing experience from start to finish. Roy and team were quick to diagnose my transmission issue, explained the problem professionally, and rebuilt the transmission on less than 3 days. No charge for the diagnostic and I called around and can confirm it was a competitive and fair price. My Yukon drives like it's brand new again. Thank you Roy!!!

Our Chevy work van transmission was dead. I called and was told a price range to rebuild. Also said they could complete the work by the end of the week. They had it done on Thursday morning and they charged us the lower end of what was quoted. Everyone was polite and professional. Transmission is working great. Cost thousands less than a new one and was done much faster than we could have had new one installed. Great warranty too. Highly recommend.

Took my car there because it felt like the transmission was acting up. They found the problem was unrelated to the transmission, charge for the 2 hours to diagnose...$0! Awesome professionalism and great communication. When I DO need transmission work I'm coming back to this shop.

Gave it over a year before I wrote my reveiw. I have to say what most people say about the team that they tell it to you straight and no bs. Roy diagnosed and gave me the best price. Had it back in less than a week. My 2004 Ford Explorer has not had any issues since and shifts like butter. Good honest people. Highly reccomend.

Update Aug 2024: In late 2020, another shop that’s no longer in business botched a radiator replacement job and messed up the transmission. I inherited Blue (the car’s name) from my son who was a recent college grad. I didn’t know what I’d do with her since an extra vehicle wasn’t needed then. She looked abandoned for over a year, but thank goodness I kept her. Just as luck would have it, my daughter needed a car before finishing up college. I called Cottman and they installed a transmission in early 2022. Blue has been dinged, dented, used and abused by my family, but is still doing what she does, which is survive. She’s a daily driver right now with over 230k miles.
A few months ago, I took my uncle to Cottman to discuss his 2002 Chevrolet Silverado after he was told it needed a transmission. I believe his truck has over 400k miles on it and I know it’s used as a work vehicle for general contracting jobs. I was nervous about the outcome, but felt good about the recommendation. Roy and his team saved my uncle money & time by properly diagnosing his truck. They replaced what was needed to get it back on the road, which was not a transmission replacement. They got it done quickly too. My uncle called thanking me for helping him, but all I did was guide him to people who are knowledgeable and helpful. Given my bad experiences with other shops, this place is a rare find.

Our 2006 Kia Spectra with over 180k miles was serviced in July. It’s been a month now and all is well. My son put many miles on it going to his jobs and now has it at school.
Before Cottman, I got the runaround even from a Kia dealership, which would sooner sell me a new transmission or car than actually fix the problem. After 4 weeks of driving the car in ‘safe mode’ back and forth between 5 different shops, the issue was identified as a faulty wiring harness that was causing solenoid failure and different code messages. I get it that it’s an older car, but had I known that Kia only replaces instead of fixes their own installed transmissions, I wouldn’t have bothered going to their dealers. Thanks to Cottman we were spared the extra expense of purchasing a new transmission or a new car.
