I had a very disappointing experience at the RONA Maple location today.

The issue was never about getting a discount on an opened bag of garden stones. We were told that no discount would be given, which was different from what we had been told on a previous visit, but we accepted that and decided to take sealed bags instead. We did not argue or insist on receiving a discount.

Unfortunately, the cashier at the self-checkout continued commenting on the situation and repeatedly asked why we couldn’t return the opened bag to the garden centre ourselves. The cart we were using had a broken wheel and was extremely difficult to move, which made the task challenging. Rather than trying to understand the situation, she seemed more interested in criticizing what we were doing.

We remained cooperative throughout the interaction and simply wanted to complete our purchase, but the conversation became unnecessarily unpleasant and left us feeling unwelcome.

I would like to thank the store manager, San, for stepping in and helping to de-escalate the situation. His professionalism and willingness to help were greatly appreciated.

Customer service is not just about enforcing store policies—it’s also about treating customers with courtesy and respect. Unfortunately, that was not the experience we received from the cashier during this visit.

Excellent customer service is appreciated !!! I recently purchased some deck railings from the Rona Maple store and realized during the installation that I needed some additional railing brackets. I spoke with Perry Hum in the Pro Contractor department and largely through his efforts, he was able to locate the supplier, order the brackets and keep me in the loop. A very positive experience - Thanks Perry !!!

Fantastic Customer Service. We recently had a mix up with a BBQ that we purchased. When I called in Nick the manager of the department and his team responded with such professionalism and presented a fair resolution that exceed our expectations. The delivery guys were fantastic as well. My husband and I are so happy with our purchase and highly recommend the Maple store .

Went to Rona Auto Shack to get brakes for my Ram 1500 and had a great experience. Everything went smoothly from start to finish. Adeola was especially helpful—friendly, knowledgeable, and made the whole process easy. Really appreciate the excellent customer service. Highly recommend!

I checked out this Rona because they were the only location in our area that had the Wallpops Peel & Stick wallpaper I was looking for. When the store associate who helped me realized that there wasn't enough of the same dye-lot, she offered to place an order for me that could be delivered to my house, which I appreciated.
When it turned out that I had more than I could use and needed to return a few rolls, I was helped by two amazing store associates: Sade and Marcelle. Because of a system issue that complicated their ability to process the return, they had to phone another location (who had processed the delivery) and wound up being on the phone for almost an hour while I waited. The two of them stayed upbeat and positive, chatting with me and ensuring that I was still okay for time, while advocating for me to the the person on the phone, who clearly didn't want to be helpful. They were so nice, I could have just stayed and chatted with them all afternoon, lol! Great customer service in this store, thank you!!!

Peaple don't shop from lowes Vaughan. The worst place to shop the management is bad at that location starting from store manager to assist store manager that aren't any help they hide in thier offices running away from customers with rude answers to the questions. Please shop from home depot peaple are nice thier.

We were at the counter at to buy a sealed 2x4 wall panel,Thomas (cashier) scanned the incorrect bar code( unchecked box) which is $24.99 so we told him he scanned an incorrect bar code, he should have scanned the checked box which is $29.99. He didn't even acknowledged or thank us for it so we told him we are being honest and trying to help him. He didnt stopped there, he wanted to charge us 4x of the $29.99. We told him pls look at the box it's marked 4 pcs in a box. He didnt believe us so he called someone that took forever to come. He opened the whole box to prove there's 4 pcs and explained it's per piece a price(4x 29.99). We tried to be patient and explain that the price is per box and bought the same item before for that price but he refused to listen and argued that the pricenis per piece. So we look for other associates to confirm since the one he wanted to call is taking forever. 4 people confirmed it's per box not per piece. He said "NO", 2 of his colleagues even looked at the cashier screen and the box and they told him the same thing, the price is per box not piece. Finally Jim decided to drop by to confirm it. It took Jim 2 minutes (saying one sec in spanish, assuming we are mexican or Spanish/racial profiling us) to take the box out of the cart, read the box ,open and confirmed the item doesn't have a bar code per piece. He looked and sounded unaware of the sale Albatros wall panel from his own department but Thank you Jim for confirming it to Thomas. Jim left without putting the box back to the cart nor put the tape back in the box. Thomas refused to put the item back on the cart saying he is not going to do it so called and waited for someone to do it for him even though we was able to do it before. How's our experience today,we were judge. We felt that Thomas thought, just because we are female we dont know any better. He was trying to prove himself even though 5 associates confirmed that he was wrong and the item is sold per box not per piece. He was very stubborn and resistive to acknowledge that he was wrong in the 1st place. Terrible experience from Thomas for a very simple ,inexpensive purchase. He mentioned he's been in the company for 10 years, then he absolutely needs retraining/orientation and education.
