I went there to buy some seeds and top soil. I didnt know if I could prepay for the topsoil and then pick it up and not carry it around. When I went to the cash, there was no one there and they were self-service stations. I looked around and didnt see anyone. Abruptly behind me a women said "Do you have a problem?". This staff person didnt say: Good Afternoon, or How are you? or May I help you?
When I explained my dilemma, she begrudgingly entered the information into the computer, and checked me out. Looks like self service rules and customer service is non existent. I had forgotten why I avoid shopping here.

Came to the Stockyards Rona+ location on a Wednesday evening to pick up paint. No staff at the paint desk to help customers. Three staff were attending to stock in one place. One staff just sitting in a chair watching the other two. We asked various staff to page someone to the paint desk four times. I have never had this much trouble getting assistance in a store in my life. After about 20 minutes a staff person finally showed up. During that 20 minute period we observed several staff in the store just standing around doing absolutely nothing. They seem to care less about helping customers.

Save your time, go to Home Depot instead. Came here to order a specific type of paint to the store (in-stock at a farther location). Despite there being zero customers in the store, and nobody waiting at the paint desk, had to wait 10+ minutes while an employee tapped away on a computer. When she finally had a moment to help, she told me they didn’t have the paint I wanted & didn’t seem willing or able to check other locations. When I showed her the paint at another location she told me to go there to pick it up & that this store wouldn’t want to transfer it closer but she could ask a manager. So I waited for a manager. And then was brought to the customer service desk to keep waiting. Manager never materialized, so the customer service employee phoned them directly. Instead of actually making any effort to help, the customer service employee asked the leading question “customer doesn’t want to drive to another location, the paint they want is only $50, we won’t send it right?”…shockingly the answer was no. Or maybe the manager doesn’t even exist. I didn’t stick around to ask. 25 minutes later, 0% closer to completing my project. Home Depot didn’t have the paint either, but the lovely paint desk employees there took the time to check Rona’s stock and suggest I order to the store. Employees at a competitor store offered better advice and service for this store than Rona’s own employees did. Now I understand why there were no customers inside.

I’ve visited the Home & Garden RONA at Toronto Stockyards, and it’s a convenient stop when you’re working on home projects or gardening. Parking is easy and the lot is close to the entrance, so carrying heavy items isn’t a struggle. Inside, the layout is straightforward — the garden section and seasonal displays are usually toward the front, and tools and hardware are organized cleanly along the main aisles. Staff have been friendly when I needed product advice, especially in the paint area. Prices are in the normal range for home improvement stores, and there are often decent sales if you check flyers. Checkout is usually smooth, especially if you’re not visiting during peak weekend hours.

Summary: Terrible Install Experience.

Would not recommend at all. It was such a bad experience that we are filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, and with the property management company of all the neighboring condo and apartment complexes.

This particular RONA subcontracts their installs to a third party. Our experience was with Quick Contractors. They were on time, which was the only thing they did well.

They left packaging, garbage, and drywall debris all over our home. They bullied the homeowner into signing a letter saying they cleaned up, even though they didn't and we have photos to prove it. They didn't even arrive prepared to clean up after themselves, because they needed to borrow paper towel from us - which they only used to clean their own hands.

They got the homeowner's phone number and immediately started calling them with harassing phone calls asking for additional payments - even though we prepaid for the entirety of this install through RONA.

Summary: they left behind a huge mess and they started calling us with harassing phone calls demanding more money.

Had everything I needed but Noone was willing to help me load the insulation that was still strapped. I'll take my $2000 elsewhere. The 2 kids at the cash chatting were not able to assist in any other way besides paging on the speaker, to which no one showed.
