Do NOT live in these overpriced apartments.
Here’s my honest review after living at Gatehouse for two years:
Cons:
1. Terrible senior management – My car broke down overnight in the drop-off zone, and I immediately called and left multiple messages to inform them. Despite that, they towed my car without any warning. To make matters worse, the leasing office initially offered to help cover the towing bill (see attached screenshot) but later backed out. There were no signs indicating the area was a tow zone. After two years of paying rent and being a responsible tenant, it was extremely frustrating to be treated this way at the end of my stay.
2. Cheap construction – extremely thin walls and ceilings with zero soundproofing from neighbors or city noise.
3. Constant maintenance issues – leaking pipes, broken floorboards, and frequent bug problems in the warmer months.
4. Unreliable elevators – at times completely out of service.
5. Outdated gym – a treadmill was broken for months without repair.
6. Disorganized package room – a chaotic mess with no real system. Time wasted digging through my neighbor’s packages.
7. Inconsistent apartment temps – especially in winter, when heating settings couldn’t be adjusted.
8. No sense of community – neighbors would speed dangerously through the drop-off zone.
Pros:
1. Great location – close to downtown, which was very convenient.
2. Excellent maintenance staff – shoutout to Dario for always being helpful and responsive!
3. Nice rooftop – recently updated with new furniture and a great view.
Final thoughts:
While I appreciated the location and made great memories with my roommate and friends, I would never recommend Gatehouse to them. For the amount of money I was paying, the quality simply didn’t match. This building has potential, but it’s clear the ownership doesn’t care to improve it. Wishing future residents and the staff the best of luck—but I’m glad to be moving on.

We had a great experience living at gatehouse. The maintenance team, specifically Dario was so personable, attentive, and quick to respond to any issues we had. Even at inconvenient times he would be there to support you at the drop of a hat. Great team and also love how good they were to our dog, he loved them!

Absolutely the best place around. It’s safe, clean, quiet and convenient. We are treated like family here! The management and staff are always looking for ways to make residents happy and satisfied. Their door is always open. From Eric, Jennifer, David, Monica, Dario and Alex they’re always there to assist with a positive attitude. Eric is very accommodating and welcoming and excellent communication. Dario solved my service request the very next day. Thank you to all.

We have lived at Gatehouse 75 for five years. It is close to restaurants, Whole Foods, and the Community College Orange Line T stop. It is an easy walk to the North End, Downtown Boston, and TD Garden. Relative to large high-rise apartments nearby, it is smaller but has a gym, two community rooms, a package room, and a wonderful roof-top patio and grilling space.
Its best feature is the attentive maintenance staff. Both Alex and Dario are constantly working to keep everything running smoothly. And, when there are maintenance issues, whether to replace lights or fix one of the appliances, they respond within one business day without fail.

Of the apartments I've ever lived in, Gatehouse 75 is by far the most friendly and accommodating community, very much in part to the wonderful building manager, Josh Such. Josh goes above and beyond to know every tenants name, help out with packages, and follow up on any maintenance repairs in your unit. One time I mentioned to Josh that I was waiting for a very heavy package, he not only looked out for it, but he brought it upstairs for me to my unit; he's always going out of his way to help. My husband and I used to own a condo in the navy yard, and the treatment we received by the building manager/community doesn't come remotely close to how well we are treated at Gatehouse. I would recommend this building to anybody; it's family friendly, a great location, and the building hosts events in the lobby on a frequent basis. The apartments are spacious and it's a great community. Highly recommend!
