My three kids are learning how to swim here, and they absolutely love their lessons! All of the instructors and staff are incredibly kind, patient, and welcoming. The facility is always very clean, organized, and well-maintained. I truly couldn’t have chosen a better swim school for my children. Thank you so much for everything you do! ❤️

First and foremost, I want to say that Ms. Thalia is an incredible teacher for babies and toddlers. My daughter has been attending Goldfish since she was 2 years old in the baby class, and now at 3.5 years old, she's in the next level class.

Ms. Thalia was her teacher in the baby class and I was immediately impressed by her genuine kindness, patience, and enthusiasm with the children. She always has a smile on her face and brings such positive energy to every class. Watching the way she interacted with the babies made me certain that I wanted my daughter to continue learning with her in the junior class. I do believe that my daughter's love of swimming/water is directly linked with Ms. Thalia being her teacher for swim. I can't give enough praise.

I also want to give a shout out to Mr. Luis. There was one class when he was filling in, and at the time my daughter was very shy/nervous around unfamiliar men. She was so upset that Ms. Thalia wasn't there that she cried and screamed for nearly the entire lesson. Despite that, Mr. Luis was incredibly patient, calm, and kind for the entire class. Anyone who has dealt with a screaming toddler knows that isn't easy, and I really appreciated how compassionate her was throughout the class. By the end of the class, my daughter even walked up to him and gave him a high five. Even though it was a one-time thing that happened a few months ago, it has stuck with me ever since.

My only criticism has nothing to do with the staff or the program itself, but it's the parking. Street parking is extremely limited, and the garage parking is expensive for a 30 minute class. Goldfish does provide parking validation, but the fee is still $12, which adds up over time.

My kids have been enrolled in Goldfish Swim School in Flushing for a year. The instructors are well trained and patient and each one we've had has always helped my girls feel comfortable in the pool! Special shoutouts to Tiffany, Thalia, Alexa and Angel A!

Cons:
One of my daughter's instructor left, which is fine, but they assigned her someone else without any notification or communication. This is a bit frustrating because some children take time to adjust to new instructors.

There is also a general lack of classes as the kids move up. Most of the times are inconvenient especially when you have multiple enrollments.

Also, there is poor upkeep in the changing area and bathrooms - lots of broken doors and no mopping or wiping down of benches and floors between classes.

Not to mention "discounted" parking is now $12! Considering the cost of classes I would expect free parking or having it back to $6.

Overall its a decent swim school but there are areas for improvement.

I highly recommend Goldfish Swim School! My child has been attending for almost three years, and the experience has been amazing from the very beginning. The instructors are excellent—patient, professional, and truly dedicated to helping children build confidence and improve their swimming skills.

I especially want to highlight Kai and Carlos, who have been an important part of my child’s growth throughout this journey. Their encouragement, expertise, and positive energy have made such a difference, and I truly appreciate the care they put into every lesson.

Goldfish is a fantastic school with flexible scheduling, which makes it so convenient for busy families. I’ve already recommended it to many friends, and I will continue to do so. If you’re thinking about enrolling your child in swim lessons, this is definitely the place to go!

We are beyond grateful for this swim school and the incredible teachers who make it so special. Angel, 🪽Alexa, and David are truly outstanding—not just as instructors, but as people who genuinely care about every child they teach.
Their patience, kindness, and encouragement have made such a difference in our children confidence and progress in the water. They know how to balance safety, skill-building, and fun so beautifully, and it shows in how excited our child is for every lesson.
What really sets this school apart is the heart behind the teaching. Angel , Alexa, and David take the time to connect with each child, celebrate their milestones (big and small), and create a positive, nurturing environment where kids feel supported and proud of themselves.
