Nevea fixed three problems in one call, including one that had been following me around since I opened my account. Calm, sharp, and with a little bit of swagger, she effortlessly (as it seemed) turned my frown upside down. Impressive. Canvas, give this woman a raise and a training seminar to run. She belongs in management.

Trying to buy a car has really changed. My wife and I live in como,co which is a 2 hour drive. The folks that we delt with calls and said everything was ready to go and at the last minute denied us because we don't get our mail delivered to the house, we and everyone that lives in the mountains gets there mail from the post office.

Canvas Credit Union is actively scamming me. Their online payment portal for auto loans doesn’t work. They know it, and their customers pay the price with hidden interest and late fees.
Timeline
- (early June) I scheduled my first payment for my due date, 6/30, using their online portal
- 6/15 I called to confirm the payment was going to post as scheduled, Canvas agent said I was good to go
- 6/30 My payment doesn’t post
- 7/2 I call in proactively to ask what’s going on, agent says they have my money and I’m good to go, and there must be some delay in showing it on my bank’s side. At this point, I also notice my online account doesn’t work anymore, and the agent says it was probably a glitch in their system and I need to re-register
- 7/10 Canvas notifies me my payment is late with a scary loss mitigation email, threatening action on my credit score and late fees
- 7/13 I make another payment, which also doesn’t post despite me getting a confirmation code from Canvas
- 7/14 I call my bank, who said they never received a payment request and confirmed there are no issues with my account. Canvas alleges I used a bad account number the first time around and that my bank notified them on 7/7 that the payment was no good (which doesn’t make sense because my bank wouldn’t know I was making a payment if I typed the account number wrong). I notice $80 in extra interest and late fees tacked onto my account and ask about it, Canvas rep said it’s not their policy to notify me when my payment doesn’t go through, essentially allowing them to farm more interest from me since it accrues daily.
Canvas Credit Union’s auto loan payment portal has issues, and they’re pointing a finger at me and charging me extra interest and late fees instead of owning up to their issues. Their portal doesn’t clearly lay out late fees and added interest, so unless you talk to a rep or know your exact payment breakdown (principal vs interest vs fees), all their portal shows you is your balance. Canvas absolutely should not be in the auto loans business if they can’t take a simple ACH transfer. This is such a scam, and it’s straight up harmful to people that are genuinely just trying to pay their loans on time

Says my info is invalid, can’t log in online, yet still keeps charging for a car I don’t have. 3 years shy of paying it off but got in an accident. They got more than 10k from insurance. And didn’t minus that cash until bill was exactly where it was at before my accident. Place has done so many schemes but never refinanced. I definitely should have, wouldn’t be in this situation if I did.
