I really like MACU. But this Friday I went in to exchange a card, they deactivated it and then told me their card machine wasn’t working. Would’ve been nice to warn me about that beforehand. Four other locations also had their card machines down. This seems to be a consistent problem.

I set up an appointment to open a business account. I arrived 5 minutes early and waited patiently as my appointment time came and went. Seven minutes after my appointment time a worker asked me if I had an appointment and if I was waiting for so and so. I replied yes, and that person left, presumably to tell my contact I was waiting. Nope. Twenty minutes past my appointment time I decided my time was more valuable than Mountain America believed it was, and I left. I drove 4 miles to the Utah First Credit Union branch in South Jordan and was warmly greeted and immediately ushered to a financial officer who patiently assisted me for the next hour in setting up my business account. What a stark difference in the experiences I had at these two credit unions. Mountain America should take a page from Utah First regarding how to properly treat its customers or potential customers.

I visited the Mountain America Credit Union branch in West Jordan to open a business account and was extremely disappointed with the service I received from a Hispanic female employee in the business banking area. Unfortunately, I did not catch her name.

From the beginning of the interaction, she appeared reluctant to assist me and came across as cold and dismissive. Communication was difficult, and I felt that my questions were not being adequately addressed. Rather than feeling welcomed as a member looking to open a business account, I felt as though I was inconveniencing her by asking for assistance.

The overall experience was unprofessional and frustrating. I ultimately left the branch without opening the account because I no longer felt confident that I was receiving the level of service I should expect from a financial institution.

I have generally had positive experiences with Mountain America in the past, which made this interaction particularly disappointing. I hope management reviews this matter and works to ensure that members seeking business banking services receive professional, courteous, and helpful assistance.

Normandy was extremely helpful with a difficult situation with one of my accounts. Her customer service was incredible! I think I had dealt with her in the past at branches down in Utah County and I am THRILLED that she is now at my favorite location near my house. This entire branch is so convenient and everyone is so helpful! Highly reccomend!

Waited 30 mins so far to open a student account for my son. This is the second time I have come to do so. Honestly I think I’m just going to close all my accounts and go somewhere just for a change of scenery after 30 years at MACU I’m tired of how much harder it is to do business than ever before. So I guess I’m his is a mutual break up.
