I usually come into this store a couple times a month. Sadly, I don't think I will ever be back due to a very passive aggressive transaction with a cashier named Steven. My husband and I had only a handful of items, no more than 5, and we placed our basket with the items still inside onto the check out conveyor because there was another shopper ahead of us and it was full with their groceries. When it came time for Steven to check us out and scan our items, he stared at the basket and then looked at us and slammed his hand onto the conveyor. He then told us he can't scan the items when they are still in the basket and proceeded to complain and shame us that we didn't remove the items first. It made absolutely no sense to either of us, as he could have easily picked up each item and scanned them but he was adamant about having them on the conveyor. Or we would have happily done so, but the shopper before us had used up the entire conveyor so there was no space. He berated us the entire time, and it made us both so uncomfortable that we almost wanted to just leave.

Maybe he was having a bad day, but if he takes it out on customers out of the blue that definitely makes me never want to come back.

I had a great experience at the Albertsons in Palm Desert. The store was clean, organized, and well stocked, and the employees were friendly and helpful. I especially appreciated the good selection and the overall customer service. It’s a convenient place to shop, and I would definitely recommend this location to others.

I have been shopping at this Albertsons for over 15 years, since I was a little girl coming here with my dad, to now bringing my husband and our children. Throughout that time, I've always had positive experiences with management and staff, which is why this recent interaction was disappointing.
My family was 24 cents short during checkout so we asked to remove a bag of chips. The employees seemed unsure how to process since we already paid most of all of it, saying it was frozen, so I politely asked if anyone happened to have a spare quarter available. Instead of receiving the friendly customer service I've always associated with this store, the manager became unnecessarily rude and confrontational.
After misunderstanding a comment I made to my husband, she spoke to me disrespectfully, and then apologized to her coworker and said she wasn’t talking to her, and that she was just having a bad day. Once they decided to get a quarter, the manager came out of the office and shouted “did it work?” I said yes and thanked her, which was followed by her ignoring me. I then said “I hope your day gets better,” which lead her to saying “it will. That’s why I ignored you little girl.”
As a longtime customer, wife, and mother, this behavior was unprofessional and completely inappropriate.
What upset me most is that this store has always felt welcoming. This woman has engaged with my son before in the past, how gross to think once your child isn’t around you’re thought of as a little girl and disrespected. One negative interaction does not erase 15 years of positive experiences, especially because manager Yessica has done so much for me and my family over the years since she’s watched me grow up, but management should be aware when an employee in leadership treats customers in a manner that reflects horribly on the store. I sincerely hope Albertsons addresses this issue and maintains the friendly atmosphere that has kept my family shopping here for so many years.

This Albertsons has some really good deals on fresh meat. Rib Eyes were fantastic. Over there at the deli they have a young man Joshua. Super helpful and very pleasant to work with. If he isn't a manager or shift lead he needs to be.
