We have used Potomac Plumbing several times over the past years and they have been very good to us. Unfortunately, for some unknown reason, we were treated very poorly this last time. We had a leak in our recirculating pump for our hot water and Steve came out and said he could replace the flange that leads to the pump. He took an hour to get the part and charged us the $225 labor rate for that hour. He replaced the part and an hour after he left it started leaking again. We called and he came back and mumbled some stuff about having to get a new pump and seemed confused as to what to get and how to do the replacement. He told me I could look online for a new pump but I had no idea what pump to get. It was discovered we had a leak in our hot water tank as well he said he could complete both replacements and told me 3 times he would contact me that same day to schedule the repairs. He never called and I had to wait for the holiday weekend to end and called back on Tuesday morning to check the status of ordering a new pump. At 4 pm on Tuesday I received a text message from the answering service advising me that they were too busy to take on new customers and I would have to find someone else to complete the repairs. I texted back I was not a new customer and they never completed the job since I still had a leak and I wanted a refund for the $481 I had paid for them to come out. I received another text message stating they knew I wasn’t a new customer and I could either find someone else to do the work and they would dispose of my check or they would do the work for $3100 and it would be several days before they could come out to do the work. I was able to find someone else to do the work the next day and they completed it in 2 hours and cost me $1200 less. I asked for Potomac Plumbing to honor what they had said they would do and text me a photo of my check with “void” written on it since I had chosen the option to find someone else to do the work like they had given me the option to do. They never replied to my several requests for the photo. It is very sad that after several good years using this company they chose to treat us so badly. I recommend looking for another option before you choose them to avoid the stress we went through trying to get our repairs completed in a timely and fairly priced manner.

I had to have my main sewer line replaced in the middle of winter. Steve and his crew got to work in a cold wet rain. What a sloppy mess it was outside, but they didn't miss beat and worked throughout the day. Before the end of the day I had the ability to poop with confidence that I wouldnt be seeing the turd float on my basement floor after I flushed. Highly recommend Potomac Plumbing .

Had them come out twice in the last week or so, one time to fix a food processor and foul smell coming from a basement bathroom and a second time to fix a leak in a toilet. There fast, efficient, fair priced and just seem to be generally good people, will continue to have my business.

Potomac Plumbing has done several services for us. I have known Steve (the owner), for 40 years. Steve, Bob and Tucker are always very friendly and professional. And although I've never met her, Michelle has always been very friendly and helpful on the phone. Potomac Plumbing will always get the call when I need a plumber.

A reliable and professional company that stands by its work. When our water heater was on the fritz and the first attempts to fix it were not successful, the owner and his son came to the house to follow up on it. He was efficient with the use of his time. As he worked, he explained what he was doing, and he did not charge us extra for work that had already been performed. High marks for great customer service. I would recommend this company for your plumbing needs without any hesitation.
