I've been a resident here for a year. The community director, Marilyn and her team, and the maintenance staff, Sylvester and his team are responsive, courteous, and care about the residents. I've had a wonderful experience here, and would highly recommend Echo LKN!

I am writing in direct response to the section 8 management team and your recent response to my review which attempts to justify the deteriorating state of our community with vague timelines and repeated excuses. Unfortunately, your message does little to address the ongoing reality that residents are paying for amenities that are either unavailable, neglected, or completely unusable.

Letโ€™s be clear: this is not a matter of minor inconvenience โ€” this is a matter of consistent neglect and a sharp decline in community standards.
โ€ข The pool has remained closed well into summer. Blaming this on an โ€œawaited inspectionโ€ in reality is (poor management in getting the inspection done early in the first place )offers no real accountability, especially when residents receive no proactive communication or timeline. We pay for access to this amenity, and every day it remains locked is a failure to deliver on that promise.
โ€ข The gym has been boarded up for weeks, with no notice of whatโ€™s actually being done. Renovation is not an excuse for what seems like indefinite closure. Improvements should enhance the resident experience โ€” not eliminate it entirely.
โ€ข The pet spa is filthy. No amount of spin can hide the fact that itโ€™s unhygienic and clearly not being cleaned regularly. The same applies to the dog park, which is covered in waste due to a complete absence of stocked pet stations. This is not just inconvenient โ€” itโ€™s unsanitary and irresponsible.
โ€ข The car wash station is an eyesore, full of debris and left in disrepair. If you are โ€œimplementing additional maintenance measures,โ€ we have yet to see any evidence of that.

Residents are not interested in scripted apologies or recycled promises. We want action. We want transparency. We want the amenities weโ€™re paying for โ€” clean, functional, and accessible.

It is time for the management team to stop deflecting and start delivering. The Maintenance team is so overworked they should receive support from their management team like changing out the dog waste bags if the management team is unqualified to change a box of dog poop bags I believe they are probably unqualified to run this community. The current conditions are unacceptable, and the dismissive nature of your response only adds to the growing frustration among residents. If these issues are not resolved immediately and communication does not improve, I will be forced to escalate this matter further โ€” including sharing my experience with future tenants and review platforms.

We deserve better. And we will continue to speak up until we get it.

The new section 8 apartments in Mooresville,
Worst Management in town

I have lived in this apartment complex for some time, and Iโ€™ve watched the community steadily declineโ€”itโ€™s disappointing and unacceptable.

Letโ€™s be clear: while the amenities are technically โ€œworking,โ€ they are either inaccessible or neglected. The pool is CLOSEDโ€”and itโ€™s June. That alone is inexcusable during peak summer. The pet spa is filthy and unsanitary, a complete health hazard. The gym? Boarded up, and has been for far too long. These are all amenities we pay for and were promised access to.

The dog park is a disaster. There are no poop bags at any of the pet stations, and as a result, there is dog waste scattered throughout the community and especially in the dog park itself. Itโ€™s not only disgustingโ€”itโ€™s a public health concern.

Even the car wash area, which could be a nice feature, looks like itโ€™s been forgotten entirely. Itโ€™s cluttered, dirty, and completely unmaintained.

This community needs serious attention from management. We are paying premium prices for substandard living conditions, and itโ€™s clear the upkeep of this property is no longer a priority. We deserve transparency, regular maintenance, and most importantly, access to the amenities that were promised in our lease agreements.

Until these issues are addressed, I cannot recommend this complex to anyone

To management, you should be ashamed of yourselves and you need to do better.

Update 6/3/2025

I am baffled at how much worse this apartment complex gets after every new property management takes over. The now โ€œEcho at Lake Normanโ€ is probably the worst of all of them. Itโ€™s just been one thing after another since theyโ€™ve taken over. I have no idea where these 5 star reviews are coming from, but if you give this place 5 stars - you have sorely been played.
First, they rehired a property manager who was originally fired. Not sure of the details of why she was fired this time - if itโ€™s related to her sobriety or the poor management. But regardless - this place is falling apart.
Iโ€™m not saying you wonโ€™t get smiles and the application process may go well and the apartment might look nice when you do your tour, but you better believe if you have ANY issue with your apartment, itโ€™s crickets. My husband and I, along with several other long term residents are high tailing out of here. Our building is practically empty.
It does not surprise me that they are conning people out of additional $$
Most of the units in our building is experiencing electrical issues. We went to report our AC is broken & were told they canโ€™t do anything. My MIL is staying and is on oxygen, I have a 2 month old. It was 79 ยฐ IN THE HOUSE, and 88 ยฐ outside. They did offer us a portable AC unit (big enough to cool our bathroom), we said weโ€™d need like 5, and they said they couldnโ€™t b/c they are all being loaned out due to AC failures. ITS NOT MAINTENANCE ISSUES, THESE ARE POOR OFFICE MANAGEMENT ISSUES.
We couldnโ€™t use our pool because it failed inspection. And itโ€™s still not open. This happens EVERY SINGLE YEAR.
We are sick of the poor management.
At this point, if you read my reviews and decide to live here because you think youโ€™re a good โ€œjudge of characterโ€ or because they promise you the moon and stars - you asked for it.

Update: 11/2/2023

My husband and I have been residents at Braxton At Lake Norman for 7 years. We have been through multiple property managers, with a decline after FCA took over, and a significant decline after Charles left. For the premium amount we spend each month on rent, youโ€™d think they would keep the grounds, trash, and amenities up to parr, but instead our apartment complex looks run down and unkempt. Iโ€™ve seen Section 8 housing look better than Braxton. It is so embarrassing to have guests or family over with the lack of attention around here.
- After MONTHS of the carwash gutter bowing and needing attention, it finally tore off the fascia. And instead of replacing the gutter - they just tacked it back up.
-For several weeks the dog waste stations around the complex were all overflowing.
-The trash cans at the car wash have been full for over two weeks, trash has blown out, it smells bad, and I wouldnโ€™t be surprised if rodents or roaches start to show up.
-The trash compactor at the ENTRANCE of our complex is always full and a mess
-They couldnโ€™t fix a small hose leak at the carwash, so they just shut it off.
-The pool has been closed/drained a month early.
-It used to be that you couldnโ€™t use your balcony as storage and needed to keep it all in good taste, but here at Braxton you can store your boxes and bins wherever you please.
-And some garage doors have still not been painted to match the rest of the complex.

I donโ€™t know if management just looks down at the ground when they are riding around, or just plain out ignore the blatant call for help from the grounds, but it is just awful and frankly disrespectful to all the residents here. Itโ€™s so evident how run down everything is, residents shouldnโ€™t have to email, call, or write reviews to get things taken care of properly.

Itโ€™s no surprise that so many units sit empty. I donโ€™t know what your business model is, but if itโ€™s to gouge your current residents and pocket the profits instead of investing back on the maintenance and property upkeep - it clearly shows. I pray that a new property management company takes over, one that actually cares about their tenants. Based on other reviews, I donโ€™t foresee them being in business much longer.
