I live in Friday harbor where we don’t have traffic lights or multi lane roads, bal worked through it with me and was very very accommodating when it came to the ferry schedule and the test times. I misunderstood, I thought was bad attitude,

When it really was a professional guy who’s focusing his entire being to live his life and career like driving a car safely..
I’m glad I visited in person to apologize for accidentally dialing their number and have added it to my good karma contact list.

This guy is on point.

I spent two days at BAL Driving School determined to get my U.S. driver’s license, and I can honestly say you won’t find another school like this. The owner, Bal, went above and beyond — he was understanding, patient, and genuinely cared about helping me succeed.

As someone who’s dyslexic and gets anxious around tests, I really appreciated how flexible and calm the environment was. Bal let me take the written test at my own pace, moved appointments around for me, and even let me stay at the office until I finally passed both tests. That kind of support and understanding is rare.

If you want a driving school that actually treats you like a person — not just another student — this is the place. Bal is the man, and I can’t recommend his school highly enough.

I met Bal and talked with other staff members. They are very kind, helpful , and out most professional! Fast to set up appointments and willing to reschedule is a bonus. I came from out of state, with an expired drivers license. I thought it would have been difficult to pass the driving test at age 30. They made it easy and set me up with the tools to succeed. I highly recommend this driving school.

I came in to bals driving school very nervous and the instructor bal was an amazing person to work with helped me calm down explained many things I was curious about and overall made it a very easy experience. Both the written and driver's test. glad to work with such a kind man .. very professional and polite would 100% come back to this place if I need to do more tests 6 out of 5!! :)

I took my driving test at Bal Driving School and passed yesterday! The examiner was professional and made me feel calm during the whole process. The environment was friendly and not intimidating at all, which really helped with my nerves.

Even though I didn’t attend their driving classes, my experience taking the test there was smooth and positive. I’d definitely recommend them if you're planning to take your driving test!

I took my drive test here ( I passed) and it was an amazing experience, the people were very nice and my examiner was super helpful and kind. I would recommend this place to absolutely anyone, it’s nerve racking to take a drive test but my examiner being very kind made me forget about being nervous. Bal driving school is absolutely by far the best driving school, they are patient, thorough, for a single working parent they were kind enough to work around my schedule. Any questions at any time Sanjam was a text away. Sanjam is an amazing online / in class teacher for the kids, Roger is a great in depth drive instructor, he is patient, encouraging & safety is first hand. Bal was the final drive test instructor & as with the other's has a great attitude encouraging. These qualities are great in making a calm learning & instruction experience. People learn when they feel comfortable. Never once did my granddaughter feel stressed, upset, discouraged. If she had a question she asked & they haply responded to her. There were no hidden fees, no purposeful failing to grab your pocket book. Why would you go any where else? Bal Driving School is absolutely the Best.

I took my driving test somewhere else and ended up with a 72%, ended up going all the way over here from Everett and they were so welcoming, not making me feel uncomfortable at all. The driving instructor was so kind, and I ended up passing with a 92%. I would highly recommend this place to anyone I know who’s looking to take their test.

Do not waste your money or time with this school!!!
My driving test was refused because I was told that I made a dangerous action. However, when I initiated a let turn in the intersection, the incoming car was more than 200 feet away and did not perform any evasive action. The instructor was in a hurry to go to another test. Conclusion: do not waste your money with this school

I had the best experience at this driving school. The people were amazing and Sanjam was the best! He was very understanding and reassuring. The reviews do not lie. If you want the best possible experience getting your license, please go here! It was quick and easy and even being short handed today they made it work. Honestly the best people hands down. Getting your license is already nerve wracking so do not make it hard on yourself by taking your chances anywhere else.

My son loved his drivers Ed teacher and he had a good experience with all the drives. They contacted me when it was time for him to do a drive and it was very easy to get a time that worked. Scheduling his written exam and drive exam were also easy. They always got back to me right away with any questions I had and they worked really hard to help my son be successful in getting his license.
