Loved my visit to Isabella’s Donuts! I tried the matcha and maple glaze donuts and both were absolutely delicious. fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. The matcha wasn’t overpowering, and the maple glaze was sweet without being too heavy. The staff were incredibly friendly, happy, and positive, which made the experience even better. Such a lovely spot for a sweet treat. I’ll definitely be back for more! 🍩🥮🧋

So we saw this bakery shop in union and were very intrigued.

We went there and it had my favourite the filled donuts/bombolini. We tried the chocolate one and I was transcended to a difference realm and it was warm and dough was so good with nice coating of cocoa powder and I could Li taste the rich and creamy filled chocolate inside. They definitely use high end ingredients and if you are a sweet tooth it’s a must!

We like it so much that we got some to go as well.

I was extremely disappointed with the Isabella mochi. It looked nice on the outside, but that’s where the positives end. The taste was overwhelmingly sugary with almost no real flavor, and the dough wasn’t just undercooked — it was actually raw. It was genuinely unpleasant to eat, and the quality was far below what I expected.

The girl working on thanksgiving Sunday was so nice! I asked her to recommend 1 out of 2 donuts I couldn’t pick between. She picked the seasonal hojicha caramel one and it was great! Also offered us the other flavour too as highly recommended. Both were delicious, soft, and sweet.

Mochi donuts with different flavours changed weekly. I got half a dozen for $25 to bring to a potluck, I chose the featured flavours not the classics. All tasted pretty good, except I didn't like the taste of the chai tea ball.

My wife and I stopped by Isabella’s Mochi Donut at Union Station and we’re so glad we did!

We tried the ube bun and passionfruit guava mochi donut and both were amazing. The ube was soft, rich, and not too sweet. The passion fruit had a nice zing and chewy texture that we loved.

Perfect snack while exploring Toronto. We’ll definitely be back!

I've come to realize after ordering a few times that I don't like their matcha at all, but they had a June menu refresh and introduced this " Vietnamese Matcha " which is essentially condensed milk with matcha and THAT was delicious. That signature rich creamy condensed milk flavour perfectly balances out the bitterness of the matcha.

I also ordered a cookie butter mochi donut and creme brûlée mochi donut. Unfortunately my family snagged those so I can't say I ever tried them!

The staff are always friendly and ready to help you quickly (I always come in during morning rush). The space is small but I love the way they keep all the drink condiments and cutleries in the little corner of their standing table/shelving area.

This is their newest location inside Union Station and I pass by them on my way to work every morning.

They have 6 weekly flavours changing on weekly basis. When we arrived early in the morning, they only had “Original Glaze“, “Maple Glazae” and “Cinnamon” flavours available and mentioned they will bring in more flavours at 8am.

It’s small store for takeout and the staff are friendly.

Much more fun and interesting than your traditional donuts. With its mochi base, these are soft and chewy while also having a glutinously gummy texture to them. Rotating flavours keep things interesting.

This location is in the union station path, so it's very convenient to grab a treat as you bustle along with life.

I think there’s one thing we can agree on, and it’s that Isabella’s Mochi Donuts are DELICIOUS. Not only that, their drinks are also SO good. I recently had their banana pudding donut and I think it’s become one of my favourite sweet treats. I also hope they bring back sapin sapin. My friend was the one who introduced me to Isabella’s and I’m SUPER grateful.

Their donuts are good, nice and chewy but their Vietnamese coffee was really disappointing. The condensed milk wasn’t mixing with the rest of the coffee. I think it was made by pouring the cold coffee ontop of the condensed milk. I’m known for always finishing my drinks but I couldn’t with this one. TLDR: don’t get their coffee (I got tempted by the drink and donut deal like how eve got tempted to try the apple).

Delicious!
Ube was our favourite!!
Coffee came in a close second along with the original with white frosting.
Honestly all the flavours were amazing.
Soft and not too sweet and not as chewy as mochi. YUM!!

We tired the brown sugar and Thai tea donut. The caramelized brown sugar on the donut was amazing and tasted just like bubble tea. Also the Viet coffee as soooo strong but in the best way. Would love to try more of their donuts!!

The donuts were displayed beautifully, and the unique flavors were definitely enticing. The employee was efficient, though not particularly friendly (which is fine). I tried the Pineapple Dream, but honestly, it was disappointing—it tasted stale and more like a slightly different Tim’s donut than a true mochi donut. The flavor was just okay, nothing special. I’ve had these donuts before at the Scarborough location, and they were much better. As a mochi donut, I wouldn’t recommend this location since it lacked the distinct texture, but maybe it was just an off day! 😕

Love the mochi donuts at Isabella’s. Mitarashi dango flavour is amazing. The sweet sauce flavour goes so well with the donut. It’s my favourite flavour of dango so of course the flavour works really well for mochi donuts. The pumpkin flavour was seasonal I believe, and was also a delicious fall flavour.

Fast and convenient mochi donuts!

The selection here is all displayed at the front. There are a lot of enticing options to choose from, pretty hard to choose only one ☝️

The service is also quite friendly as well. So kind, very fast.

I got the apple pie mochi donut and it was so good. The inside filling was basically apple pie filling but the donut texture really matched it well. It was chewy and squishy and soft all at the same time.

Might have to come back and try some other flavors 😊

We recently visited Isabella’s at The Well in Toronto and tried their Cinnamon Sugar Mochi Donut. It was a delicious treat, offering a unique twist on the traditional donut experience.

Mochi donuts are different from your regular yeast or cake donuts—they're made with glutinous rice flour, which gives them a distinctively chewy and dense texture. This texture is a signature of mochi-based foods, which originate from Japan. The donut we tried was more substantial than a typical yeast donut, but that’s part of what makes it special.

The Cinnamon Sugar Mochi Donut was perfectly coated, with just the right amount of sweetness and spice. The chewiness of the donut paired well with the cinnamon sugar coating, making each bite satisfying.

Overall, if you're looking to try something different from the usual donut options, Isabella's Mochi Donuts are a fantastic choice. The dense, chewy texture offers a delightful contrast to the light and airy donuts you might be used to, and the flavors are spot on. We'll definitely be back to try different flavours!

If you’re want an interesting sweet snack, this is a perfect choice. We love the Queen St W location, so we tried them here as well.
I love their flavors with matcha, this time they had also peach-chai which is very soft flavor.
They have also some boxes.
The spot location is right in front of the central entrance to the well market.

Toronto Tastes

By Toronto Tastes on August 28, 2024 Verified by Google Isabella's Mochi Donuts

I see a lot of 5 star reviews, so mochi doughnuts are either something you’ll really like, or not like. I like mochi cold, but found it very weird as a doughnut, but I feel like it comes down to preference. Had a bland taste like it was supposed to be a healthy alternative, but these are well over 300 calories each. Tried the maple glazed and brown butter chocolate. Came to $9.33. Aside from not liking the taste, I don’t think they were very fresh either. Very nice presentation and good service, but these didn’t do it for me, I’m more for traditional doughnuts.

Isabella's Mochi Donuts are delicious and different... but in a good way. We ordered a variety of donuts for our half dozen. The standout donut for my wife was the Keylime Crumble, while I particularly enjoyed the Ube Supreme. The texture of the donuts is truly reminiscent of mochi, slightly chewy with a dense dough when compared to a traditional donut. I love mochi, so I really enjoyed these donuts. Recommended!
