❗️Don’t be misled into signing up for a credit card. SAHIR is extremely unprofessional and signed me up for a TJX Rewards credit card without my knowledge or authorization. This happened late January and seeing another review from last week complaining of the same issue is concerning.
During checkout Sahir said I can get a coupon towards my purchase. She told me the information she was asking for was for rewards or a coupon. I repeatedly asked if it was a credit card because she requested my ID and Social Security number, and each time she assured me it was not a credit card. I asked her this question repeatedly and was told that it’s for rewards.
I already had my mother’s TJX credit card in my hand ready to pay along with a coupon on my phone. The screen asked for my annual income and she turned the keypad and entered the information herself instead of allowing me to see or type it. At no point did she inform me that I was applying for or had been approved for a credit card. I later realized that after I heard my mom’s card tap and assumed the payment went through, I saw her typing numbers from a receipt into the register. At the time, I did not understand what she was doing.
She only gave me the receipt for the item I purchased. After leaving the store I was concerned and went back to speak to a manager. After another associate asked for the manager, I just found out a TJX credit card account had been opened in my name and used for the transaction. I wasn’t told I was approved for a credit card and didn’t I authorize the application.
After I found out, the other associate had to physically go into the trash and retrieve the receipt with the temporary credit card number. The receipt had the cardholder agreement and had a signature line acknowledging use of the TJX Mastercard account. Sahir NEVER gave me this receipt at checkout nor did I sign the agreement since she threw it in the trash. The fact that documentation for a new credit card was thrown out instead of being given to me is very concerning. Below is a photo of the receipt showing the cardholder agreement and signature line, which I did not sign.
When I confronted Sahir about what happened she completely denied everything. She claimed I asked for the credit card meanwhile I didn’t even know I was being signed up for one. I already had a TJX card in my hand to pay. She proceeded to also use profanity towards me and called me several names.
Before the credit card issue, Sahir also made an inappropriate comment asking me if my sister was my daughter. She then proceeded to tell me that people from my culture have children at a young age which was absolutely unacceptable.
I cancelled the card immediately. Stay away from associates like Sahir and pay close attention during checkout. It’s concerning that similar complaints have been raised and it is still continuing to happen. This raises serious concerns about this locations honesty and transparency. It doesn’t reflect well on the company.

Beware of misleading credit card sign-ups at HomeGoods‼️
I had a very concerning experience with a cashier at HomeGoods. She told us the store was offering 15% off if we provided our ID. When the keypad prompted for Social Security information, I specifically asked her if this was for a credit card application. She clearly said it was not for a new credit card.
However, I later realized that it was in fact a credit card application. She did not allow us time to read what was displayed on the pin pad and pressured us to press “agree.” After the transaction, I asked why the 15% discount wasn’t applied. She casually responded that maybe I would get it next time.
This felt very misleading and dishonest. Customers should be given clear and honest information, especially when it involves sensitive personal details like Social Security numbers. I have filed an official complaint regarding this incident.
📌Please be cautious and carefully read everything before agreeing at checkout.

Glad to see this store in our neighborhood but it will definitely make parking in the parking lot more difficult, especially during the upcoming holiday months. I was there for its grand opening and the employees were very welcoming. The aisles are very narrow so try to avoid using a shopping cart whenever possible.

A very welcome addition to neighbourhood stores in suburban housing district bordering Queens, NY. With Stop & Shop. Panera Bread, Old Navy, 5 Below already established, this 22,000 sq.ft. HomeGoods location is the ideal gap to fill in the strip that boasts of 400+ parking spaces.
The store is very well stocked with Christmassy stuff in opening week, aside from the houseware staples. Curious chaos of shoppers will transition to wholesome shopping experience soon; hoping that inconsiderate browsers do not amp-up clutter in this beautiful store.
Apart from the usual layout, a set of angled isles is not only intelligent use of elbow-bend floor plan; but also lends to creative display ideas. Nice!
Amused to notice this store has made it a point to tap into pet friendly denizens by unleashing the joy of a well-stocked 'Pet Section'. In coming months, their merchandisers might have some figuring to do but I'm looking forward to extra zing in neighborhood window & yard decor, this Christmas Season, during morning walks through New Hyde Park, Garden City Park, Stewart Manor, Hillside Manor, Floral Park areas - homeground of this HomeGoods store.
