A truly wonderful experience. The food was incredibly delicious and fresh, with the authentic Iraqi flavor evident in every dish. The kebabs were excellent, and the bread was piping hot and fresh. The staff were very respectful, cheerful, and quick to serve, and their professionalism made you feel comfortable. I will definitely return and highly recommend it.

Very disappointed. We ordered our food at 9:07pm and had to wait for nearly 45 minutes. Our items were all vegetarian, which should require fewer time compared to non-vegetarian options.
We followed up with staff three times, and they were dismissive each time. So the service was also equally disappointing.
When we did get our food, the food was mediocre at best. Do not recommend.

Marwa was our server, she is very knowledgeable about the food, as polite and helpful in guiding us what to pick. I’m a vegetarian and came here for the first time. But the food was amazing, and so was the service and pleasant atmosphere. Reasonable prices. Overall recommended even for Vegans and vegetarians! I had the veggie plate with Samun and the other type of bread, and they serve complimentary lentil soup with bread as a starter.

My go to place for Iraqi Street Food and overall its usually a good experience. The food definitely stands out — you can tell it’s authentic Iraqi street food with bold flavors and fresh ingredients. I got the Al Forat BBQ mix plus platter this time which can easily be shared by 2-3 people. Also got a shawarma and a rotisserie half chicken.
The best part about this place and which draws me back everytime is the complimentary humus and lentil soup that the outlet serves to all customers which always hits the spot especially on a cold winter day.
Portion sizes were solid and I also liked the variety on the menu, especially the mix of wraps, platters, and traditional dishes.
Service was decent and the food came out fairly quickly, though the place can get a bit busy and the atmosphere is more casual than dine-in. Also given the size of the place it’s sometimes difficult to get seating for a large group of people.
Only reason for 4 stars is that consistency can vary a bit depending on timing, and the seating/setup isn’t the most comfortable if you’re planning to stay.
Overall, a great spot for authentic Iraqi flavors — definitely worth trying if you’re into Middle Eastern food.

Despite it being ridiculously busy, their service was so good! The food was delicious and it is definitely something worth trying, and with their big portions i basically had 2 meals. I hope to come back again or go to their other locations to try something new!

This restaurant truly exceeded my expectations.
The food was absolutely delicious — full of flavor, beautifully presented, and clearly made with high-quality ingredients. Every bite was enjoyable.
The atmosphere was amazing, warm and lively at the same time, making it perfect for any occasion. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and their service made the whole experience even more special.
As someone visiting from Edmonton, I honestly wish we had a branch like this back home — I would be there all the time!
Highly recommended!

Title: A Delicious Experience at Al Forat, But Portions Could be Bigger 😊
Rating: 4/5 stars
Had a fantastic dining experience at Al Forat in Mississauga! The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was top-notch. Kudos to the staff for their excellent hospitality! The only drawback was that the prices felt a bit steep compared to the portion sizes. Overall, would definitely recommend giving it a try!

We were a group of 7 and we got seated quite fast even though the restaurant was pretty busy. The service was amazing, Hawraa was so friendly and we had a blast talking to her. The crispy shawarma was really tasty and the garlic and pink sauce were a perfect pair to dip the shawarma in. Definitely recommend

Alforat offers a genuine glimpse into the bold, smoky flavours of Baghdad, but the experience can be a bit of a rollercoaster depending on what you order and when you visit. While the flavours are often on point, the consistency leaves something to be desired. We had the Alforat BBQ Mix Plus kebab platter with Rice. However, some of the kebabs were a bit questionable. The beef kebab lacked real flavour and were quite under seasoned. However, the Lamb & Chicken were very delicious! The entire platter had good portions. We've also ordered Beef Samouns which were quite hot and tasty as well! The service and atmosphere also lean heavily into the "street food" vibe which is fine, but the wait times can be surprisingly long even when the shop isn't full. It's a "no-frills" environment, but at times it crosses the line from rustic to simply unorganized. Hence, I am more than willing to give this establishment another chance and try out their shawarmas which I wasn't able to order this time around. Alforat is a solid choice if you are craving specific Iraqi flavours you can't find elsewhere. However, if you’re looking for a polished dining experience or a quick, reliable lunch, it might be a hit or miss.

This was our first visit. We went on the Thanksgiving day, so needed to wait in the queue for 30 minutes. The place was full packed, so a little loud. However, food was delicious. We ordered Alforat BBQ mix platter. All kebabs and meat were tender, juicy and tasted amazing with unique flavour. Among the kebabs, the lamb and beef kofta kebab was the best! The hummus and garlic was good too. The provide complementary naan and lentil soup. The lentil soup is the best!

This is one of the best restaurants I ever at in my life.
ALFORAT IS GOATED!
The portions are VERY good, the taste is undefeated and the overall essence of the place as well as the staff are top tier! I recommend coming in with friends or family or both because you will be getting a lot of food and you probably can’t finish it alone!
I recommend the mixed meat platters, beef and lamb strips and the chicken shawarma saj wrap cuts. It is very good and it’s filling. It’s not even expensive for the food and portions they give!
The hummus and garlic sauce with the pita is also very fresh and good. I just have to say overall very nice place and I’d come back again and again.

Dinner at Alforat was such a great experience! As soon as we sat down, they brought out complimentary lentil soup. I ordered the hummus, lamb quzi, and the mixed plate with lamb and chicken tikka.
The hummus was creamy and smooth, perfect with the fresh bread on the side. The lamb quzi was easily the highlight, tender, juicy, and so full of flavor, with a portion size that could easily be shared. The mixed plate was also fantastic, with both the lamb and chicken tikka cooked beautifully, juicy with that charred, smoky taste that makes grilled meats so satisfying.
We went late on a Saturday night and there was a bit of a lineup to get inside, which shows how popular the spot is. Parking in the lot was limited, and the restaurant itself is quite small with not much seating, so it feels pretty crowded once you’re inside. That said, the service was kind, friendly, and impressively fast, which made the whole experience smooth and enjoyable despite the tight space.
Overall, Alforat is a must-visit if you’re craving authentic Middle Eastern food. Between the delicious plates, generous portions, and welcoming service, it’s definitely worth the wait.

Authentic Iraqi flavors & warm hospitality!
Alforat serves delicious, authentic Iraqi dishes — from creamy hummus and fresh salads to tender, slow-cooked lamb shank over fragrant rice with toasted almonds. Portions are generous, presentation is beautiful, and every bite bursts with flavor. Friendly staff and a welcoming atmosphere make it a must-visit for anyone who loves Middle Eastern cuisine. Highly recommended! Special thanks to Muhannad

Oh my, oh my, oh my! Such good food! We ordered the Alforat BBQ Mix, and it was amazing. The complimentary lentil soup felt so homely and comforting, and the BBQ mix itself was generous, although it’s listed as a portion for two, it easily fed the three of us (depending on your appetite, of course).

Tried the shawarma at Alforat Iraqi Grill and it was fantastic—flavorful, fresh, and perfectly cooked. The place was spotless and had a warm, welcoming vibe. The owner even came over to thank us personally and gave us a free dessert to try, which was such a kind gesture. Amazing hospitality all around. Highly recommend to anyone looking for authentic, delicious Iraqi food!

First time visiting and I loved the experience!
The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, perfect for a relaxed meal. I ordered the Alforat BBQ Mix Plus, the platter had a great variety of meats, all tender, juicy, and full of flavor. The rice was also nicely seasoned and very tasty. They even gave a free starter, which was a really nice touch and much appreciated. Overall, a fantastic experience. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Food:5 service:5
Very good food and nice service. The complimentary lentil soup was great and bread was freshly baked. Hummus is rich and creamy. Eggplant dipping was also great.
Mixed beef and lamb shawarma was a bit dry, but the meat itself tasted yummy. Kebab was the best, juicy and delicious. Cannot resist dipping it with hummus and tahini sauce with bread. Salad came fresh and rich in lemon flavor. Chicken and lamb skewers were also great.
The lady served us was very nice and generous. A great place to go for grilled skewers as lentil soup!

Delicious authentic Iraqi food with the most welcoming hospitality. Staff is incredibly attentive and generous. Each side dish tasted great and their samoon and khubuz are to die for. The tea is heavenly. Plenty of parking in the Plaza. Would absolutely come back again and definitely recommend. Thank you!

Had a great lunch at Alforat Iraqi Street Food! The food was amazing, especially the meat. The portions are quite big so you can share, as I did too. And it seems like this is a new spot, although I don't know for sure. The interior is very inviting and cozy for this style of a restaurant

The food may take a bit of time but honestly it’s worth the wait. The flavours, the food temperature variety is unmatched. Hearty, delicious stomach filling food.
Their customer service is also excellent

Great food, better service! Love their complimentary soup, bread and to top it off: delicious tea. Service was so attentive and food was delightful. Portions were more generous compared to other places.

We were visiting and saw how busy this place was from across the street and decided to give it a go. Exceptional food that is well worth the hype! Warm service despite how busy the spot is: it’s not very spacious but staff was accommodating despite the dinner rush, they greeted us and put us on a wait list. We’ve ended up getting a call sooner than anticipated to return for our table.
Thank you for the complimentary fresh samoon bread and lentil soup - when we tried it we knew the food to follow was going to be awesome!
We’ve ended up getting the eggplant salad, Nafar Kabab and Stuffed Half Chicken and between that and the side dishes they came wish we were super full and had a lot to take home with us.
Great fries and hummus with garlic sauce, thanks for serving that first for us to graze on while wising on our main course. Would love to return here!
Big groups might have a longer wait due to limited space but it’s well worth it! Loved the check in at the end of our meal to see how we liked things. Thank you!
