Decent place with a different experience and food style. Their meats are little meaty and lots of fat dripping. They make those shawarma pieces crispy and crunchy. Also their fries were one among the best. A place worth to give it a try. Their platter portions in the dine ins are hugeeeeee

Just had an amazing experience at Alfaro Iraqi Restaurant!
From the moment we sat down, they made us feel welcome by starting us off with fresh bread and a warm, comforting soup
such a nice touch.
I ordered the kebab box with rice and got a mix of beef, shawarma, and chicken shawarma,
and everything was absolutely delicious. The meats were perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and paired so well with the rice. You can really tell they put care into every dish.
Honestly, everything we tried was amazing. Great food, generous portions, and excellent hospitality.
Definitely coming back with my friends!!!

They were handing out shawarma samples one night and we got hooked on their lamb+beef shawarma on saj bread.
We returned the next day for dine in and were served tandoor bread and lentil soup that had a nice kick of tumeric! The best lentil soup I've had. Shawarma wraps were just as good.
Very nice interior decor, clean, and friendly staff.

It’s a good place to dine in and enjoy their atmosphere. Their waitress are very friendly and takes care of your older properly. Me and friend of mine had ordered which we made a mistake so their waitress she (Sama) will take care of the order and they waved the money that we shall pay.
Their food price is pretty high compared to other Shawarma restaurants.

Had seen the place decided to celebrate a couple of friends birthdays. Before I write about the food, the service is impeccable, both Mouna and Moustafa were very attentive and professional.
The complimentary lentil soup was delicious, we had the mixed started with their tandoori bread everyone loved it. I had the chicken shawarma’s nicely presented and delicious, some had the mixed beef and lamb shawarma and everyone was delighted . The portions were very generous. Moustafa offered an Iraqi desert I believe is called daheen.
Nice and clean ambiance. If you are in the area a must to try.

The service was amazing, very friendly and attentive staff. A lot of options on the menu that looked appetising, with decent prices and decent portions.
For dining in, they provide complimentary fresh bread and a lentil soup, which tastes really good.
I tried the shawarma wrap, which was honestly amazing, and love the pink sauce that it comes with. The eggplant salad was also good but I wasn’t a fan of the beef shawarma. I would definitely just get chicken next time as I thought the beef had a bit of a strong smell/taste.
Will definitely be coming here again to try the other menu items!

Fresh, warm, and absolutely delicious — Al Forat nailed it. The staff were as kind and welcoming as the food was comforting. Sofia, our waitress, deserves a medal (or at least an extra cup of tea) for her kindness and charm.
We ordered the Double Arabi — lamb, beef, and chicken shawarma living together in perfect harmony, with fries and three cold sides (fatoush, hummus, garlic sauce) that honestly deserve their own fan club. Each one was a showstopper.
Then came the complimentary tea, lentil soup, and warm sesame bread — the kind of hospitality that makes you forget calories and commitments.
Bottom line: Al Forat is the kind of place that makes you want to bring your friends just so you can say, “Told you so.” I’ll definitely be back (probably hungry, definitely happy).
Ps. Sorry we started eating and then I remember to take some photos.

The Chicken Shawarma Plate here is a must-try. Generous, perfectly grilled slices of chicken topped with a savory pink sauce, served over rice and accompanied by those signature bright pink pickled turnips. A vibrant, satisfying, and flavor-packed dish.

We got a lentil soup and this crispy sesame bread as a complimentary - no idea what's the bread called but I'd eat a whole bag of it. I ordered the beef & lamb shawarma on tannoor bread and chicken shawarma on saj bread. Chicken was solid, but the beef & lamb? Juicy, loaded, and full of flavor. Don't miss out on the Beef & Lamb shawarma !!!
Great food, friendly service, and good energy all around.

service is amazing here !!! people are friendly, portions are generous, complimentary soup and bread for dining in, and i was not charged for adding beef and lamb to my wrap!!!
the samoon bread was loaDEDDD generously with a bunch of meat, and i really loved all the sauces they used. it was a combination of fruity sweetness from the pomegranate, creamy tanginess from the garlic sauce, and aroma from the chicken. i also loved how the freshness of the tomatoes and pickles balanced out all the heavier flavours. my only complaint is that some of the meat was a bit dry..? and lacked something in its flavour. also the samoon was a bit chewy and not as fresh/warm as i would’ve liked.
i really liked the tanoor bread, as it arrived warm, soft, and fluffy, with a comforting baked sesame fragrance to it. as it cooled, some parts got crispy and weren’t as satisfying, but the thicker parts were super delightful and i loved dipping it in the sweet pumpkin-tasting soup, along with some garlic sauce.
the garlic potatoes were also really yummy — they were seasoned with lots of flavour (salty, lemon-y), they were warm, and there was a perfect amount of garlic sauce loaded on top that gave it a nice sour/tanginess.

Al-Forat offers a distinctive dining experience worth trying. The flavors are outstanding and truly special, especially the fresh tandoor bread that adds an unforgettable touch. The shawarma is fantastic, and the grilled meats are rich with bold flavor. The atmosphere is simple but captures the spirit of Iraqi street food. Prices are fair for the quality and portion sizes. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a unique taste in Toronto.

TLDR: Waited 40 minutes for a takeout meal that was alright. Would not go again, and would probably choose to go to Alpha’s just a few doors down instead for shawarma.
Ordered 1 beef and lamb wrap on saj bread, 1 lamb tikka wrap on saj bread, and 1 Fattoush salad, all to go. Total cost $44.04.
We ordered at 7:10pm and only received the food at 7:50pm, waiting a total of 40 minutes for the food. I asked the employee at the 20 and 30 minutes mark and were told to wait 10 minutes both times. Many orders went through ahead of ours, presumably for people who ordered the chicken shawarma based items. We made friends with another group who was there waiting for about 30 minutes. The music was very loud and there was nowhere to sit. I asked the employee if it typically takes so long, and was told it was because we ordered kebabs, which take at least 20 minutes. We were not told about this wait time when we ordered. I did gently ask if we could have a drink on the house, and the employee told us she wasn’t allowed to make that decision. I decided not to pursue further and go home.
The food itself was okay. The salad was alright, but the container was only half full. The beef and lamb wrap was pretty good, juicy, good flavour. The lamb tikka was a bit chewy. It was admittedly hard to enjoy anything after waiting 40 minutes though, and it certainly was not worth the wait.
For comparison, I had gone to Alpha’s the day prior. The food was at least as good, if not better. I had a beef wrap on saj which took about 15 minutes to go. I did consider ordering lamb there, but was told it would take at least 20 minutes (the communication was certainly better), so I decided not to.

What a great find. I found this place while looking for Arab style food near my hotel and this perfect occupied the craving. I got the Arab style lam and beef wrap and my friend got the chicken bowl. For my meal the fries were nice and crispy with a wonderful sauce that came with it. The wrap was the highlight as it had some beef fat which made it taste so much more authentic. It was so good in fact that I came back for seconds the next day. Finally I would like to say that this place is quite affordable meaning you get such a good meal for so cheap.

AMAZING FOOD!
We decided to dine in at the small but stylish dining area, the server was incredibly kind and took her time helping us decide our food and million modifications. The food portions were big and the food was delicious! We were welcomed with a yummy lentil soup and a type oh warm flatbread. You must visit this place if you’re looking for good stuff!!!

Spacious, nice decor!
Got the shawarma plate. The chicken was amazing. The cut pieces are really easy to eat, the whole platter combo tasted good.
They also served a complimentary bread with lentil soup which was quite heavy and good.

I had an amazing experience at Alforat in downtown Toronto, just steps from the Eaton Centre and Dundas Station. The food was incredible, bursting with authentic Iraqi flavors. A special big shout-out to their lentil soup as a starter—it was warm, perfectly seasoned, and absolutely comforting, a must-try! I definitely return to that place for that 🤩
The service was fast, highly professional as in luxury restaurant, and the staff were super friendly, welcoming us with genuine smiles that made me feel right at home with mom cooking. The cozy atmosphere, generous portions, and affordable prices make it a hidden gem for anyone craving real traditional Iraqi cuisine.
Highly recommend to anyone looking for delicious food with a warm vibe!

It was a pleasant surprise to dine here. I decided to dine in for a change and the service was fantastic and the portions were huge. I didn’t expect so much food but I was happy with the taste and portions. I had the chicken shawarma but also got some soup and bread to start. It was all very delicious. And the restaurant was so well decorated and the staff were friendly.

Was very looking forward to their opening and finally they are here! Came for a quick dinner after work. Food was amazing and service was as nice as the other location. The nice lady Nasim served me which was very warm and welcoming. Kebab skewer was juicy but honestly not as good as the other location. Hummus with olive oil was great. Lentil soup was also nice. Nice vibe, awesome food.
