I couldn't wait to come back here to explore after visiting 2 years ago for 40 minutes. My Uncle finally took my cousins and I back to this mall to fully check it out and it is amazing! Don't believe those YouTube influencers saying that the mall is empty because I can assure you, it is not. The only part that is a little dead is the luxury area. But it is a nice area if you want to get away from the noise for a moment. My one wish though is that parking should be free. Maybe there is free parking and we didn't find it, but if not, maybe if you spent over a certain amount in a store (like $50) they can validate your parking? Just an idea. That is the only thing I'd say that I didn't like as even the biggest mall near me (Natick Mall) doesn't charge for parking as they know you will spend money in the mall.
Anyways, one day we will be back to explore some more because one day is not enough to see everything!

I wouldn’t go out of my way to visit ONLY this mall from another state but I happened to be in the area passing by.

Parking was a bit over $6 on a weekend with no issues finding a spot. This mall was really fun and unique to explore! There was no shortage of things to see or do. I enjoyed seeing others having a good time. Definitely lives up to being one of the biggest malls in America 🇺🇸

✨I recently visited American Dream Mall and I have to say—it truly delivers a next-level shopping and lifestyle experience in New Jersey.

From the moment you walk in, the scale and design are impressive. The shopping selection is incredibly diverse, ranging from everyday brands to world-class luxury retailers. The Avenue section stands out in particular, offering a high-end experience with designer boutiques like Hermès, Louis Vuitton, and Saks Fifth Avenue, making it feel closer to a luxury destination than a traditional mall.

The dining options are just as impressive. There are over 60 restaurants and food spots throughout the mall, offering everything from quick bites to upscale dining experiences. Whether you’re in the mood for a casual meal or a refined sit-down dinner, there’s something for everyone. High-end restaurants like Carpaccio bring a sophisticated atmosphere with excellent food and service, while food halls provide a lively and convenient option for groups with different tastes.

Convenience is another major highlight. The parking system is straightforward and affordable, with easy access to multiple decks. What really stood out to me was Parking Deck D, especially for EV drivers. The Tesla Supercharger stations and additional charging options make it incredibly convenient for electric vehicle owners to shop and recharge at the same time.

Overall, American Dream Mall is more than just a place to shop—it’s a complete experience. Between luxury shopping, high-end dining, entertainment, and thoughtful amenities like EV charging and accessible parking, it sets a new standard for malls in the tri-state area. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a premium shopping and dining experience in New Jersey.✨

This place is huuuuge! Get ready to walk, especially if you have to park at MetLife. That’s actually my biggest complaint here—the parking situation is so confusing when the garages are closed. Navigating inside can be tough too. There are signs. But then all of a sudden there are no signs! There’s so much to do here though. It’s definitely a unique experience.

Went to American Dream recently and it’s definitely more than just a regular mall. There’s a lot going on, so it’s easy to spend a few hours there without getting bored.

The place is big and has a wide mix of shops, food options, and entertainment. Even just walking around was interesting, and there’s something for pretty much everyone whether you’re shopping or just hanging out.

It didn’t feel too overwhelming when I went, and everything seemed clean and well maintained. Staff around the different areas were helpful when needed, and things were easy to navigate overall.

Good spot if you’re looking to combine shopping with something a little different. I’d go back again.

Getting into the mall is absolutely horrible. Every entrance becomes a bottleneck with little direction, so traffic just backs up everywhere. It took about 15–30 minutes just to get into the parking garage.

And if you think the garage is confusing, wait until you actually get inside the mall. The signage is minimal, there’s very little guidance on where things are, and several information kiosks are just empty or vacant spaces, which doesn’t help at all.

Despite the massive vacancies and poor planning, don’t expect this place to be affordable. An afternoon here can easily run $100–$200 between food and entertainment. The layout makes things worse—the food court is all the way at one end, so it becomes jam-packed while large sections of the mall feel oddly empty.

The décor also doesn’t help. Everything is white and chrome, which already feels dated and kind of sterile rather than inviting.

It’s clearly a well-intentioned concept, but the execution is poor. Between the traffic, confusing layout, uneven crowd distribution, and high prices, the overall experience just isn’t great.

Had wonderful time at American Dream. One day won’t be sufficient to have a complete tour of the entire mall. If u want to go on the wheel, it’s approximately 24.50 dollars per adult. It takes around half an hour to complete a round on wheel. One can find all the brands here. Lots of discounts are available in most of the stores. Food court has many options too.

Everyone in North NJ was excited when this indoor mall opened in 2021-2022. It is the 2nd largest mall in the US.

There are a variety of stores in the mall, ranging from clothing brands like Abercrombie and Old Navy, to expensive jewelry brands like Swarovski. There is also a H-Mart for grocery shopping. In addition, there’s also an amusement park and water park, which are both very fun in my opinion. (Don’t forget the Dream Wheel and Big Snow!)

American Dream hosts many restaurants, fast food places in the third floor food court (Popeyes/Jolliebee), and dining restaurants such as Marcus Live. If you only want a small snack or drink, Auntie Annie’s Pretzels and juice stores such as Jamba are good options.

American Dream hosts many events, including one I went to recently, the Lunar New Year event. The show was enjoyable and exciting, while the hosts were very polite and welcoming. I highly recommend checking out the events that American Dream hosts.

Lastly, the environment. The mall is extraordinarily clean, and the restrooms and well maintained. Just one slight inconvenience, in the third floor food court near the Dream Wheel entrance, the trash cans there are always full and, as a result, many people litter. Emptying the trash cans quicker may result in less litter and waste on the floor.

This mall has to be the best mall in the north East if not one of the best in the US. This places offers something for everyone from snowboarding, arcades games, amuseparks, countless stores. Here you'll find 3 levels shopping eating and all types of fun. Mall is not only enormous but beautiful. There's a large center area that offers plenty of couches to sit and relax at times it will have season themed activities. There's a beautiful garden area that decorated depending on the season. If you're looking for a cool place to hangout with friends and family this places is the one to visit. Parking is only $5 for the entire day. Definitely a must visit.

My wife and I visited recently when staying nearby for business. It is a sprawling mall and entertainment complex with lots of shopping, dining, and activity options. There is plenty to keep kids of all ages entertained and plenty of dining options from casual food courts to fine dining. We enjoyed exploring it for a few hours.

Pretty good variety of stores and things to do here You got your usual clothes shops Abercrombie & Finch, journeys, Hot topic, box lunch.
More expensive places like Rolex.

On the entertainment side they have an indoor water park, amusement park featuring a bunch of rides and a roller coaster all Nickelodeon themed. Snowboarding and ferris wheel that gives you a nice view of the city.

They got a bandai namco store, toys r us and a pop mart for the collectors out there. Two floor candy shop called it sugar lots of variety there.

I can't list everything given it's the second biggest mall in the country but a threw a few popular ones in the review to give you an idea. I did enjoy the sea life exhibit that was probably one of the more unique things.

I just recently spent the day here It was cool to check out and see everything but for me personally felt like just another mall with a few extra things you don't normally see. I would maybe go back but I'm personally not in a rush to overall it was okay given it was a two hour drive. It had a slight wow factor I guess give you that sense of being back in time when malls were relevant.

I think I can use a more stores for collectors and toy and video game enthusiasts It lacked a lot of the nerd aspect I would call it.

I absolutely love going to American Dream Mall in New Jersey. Every time I visit, it feels exciting and refreshing because of how beautifully and uniquely everything is designed. The decorations are very well done, modern, and different from any other mall I’ve visited. Each section has its own vibe, which makes walking around feel like an experience rather than just shopping.

On weekends and during peak hours, parking inside the American Dream parking lots can be a bit challenging. However, we usually park at the MetLife Stadium parking lot, which turns out to be very convenient. From there, it’s easy and smooth to enter the mall without stress, and it saves a lot of time and frustration.

I travel from Long Island, NY, and even though it’s a bit of a drive, it’s always worth it. This mall offers so much more than shopping—it’s full of fun activities and attractions for all ages. From indoor amusement parks and entertainment zones to restaurants, cafés, and dessert spots, there’s always something to do. You can easily spend an entire day here without getting bored.

Overall, American Dream Mall is a perfect destination for shopping, food, entertainment, and family or couple outings. Whether you’re visiting for fun activities or just to enjoy the atmosphere, it never disappoints. I always enjoy my time here and love coming back again and again.

Traveling Guide

By Traveling Guide on January 5, 2026 Verified by Google

Parking: There’s a $5 daily parking fee. The covered parking garages are generally spacious and convenient, though signage approaching the mall could be better. Parking Deck A receives frequent positive mentions for easy access.
Navigation: This is probably the mall’s biggest challenge. The layout is notoriously confusing with multiple levels, twists, turns, and sections that don’t always connect intuitively. First-time visitors often get lost. Download the mall app or grab a physical map when you arrive. Allow extra time for navigation, especially if you’re trying to get to specific attractions at scheduled times.
Cost: While admission to the mall itself is free, individual attractions require separate tickets. An all-access pass covering multiple attractions can cost $100+ per person. Budget accordingly if you’re bringing a family—costs can escalate quickly.
Crowds: Weekends and holidays can get extremely busy, particularly at popular attractions. Consider visiting on weekdays if possible for a more manageable experience. Even the walkways can feel congested during peak times.
Time: Plan to spend at least 4-6 hours if you want to experience multiple attractions. Many families find it worthwhile to split visits across multiple days to avoid exhaustion and fully enjoy everything.
Overall Verdict
American Dream succeeds brilliantly as an entertainment destination but falls short as a traditional shopping mall. It’s perfect for families looking for an indoor activity hub, especially during bad weather or extreme temperatures. The variety of attractions means there’s genuinely something for every age group.
However, be prepared for the complexity of the space, potentially high costs, and crowds. The entertainment value is substantial if you’re planning to use multiple attractions, but casual visitors just looking to shop might find it overwhelming and unnecessary.
Best for: Families with children, groups looking for varied entertainment, people seeking year-round indoor activities, tourists wanting a unique New Jersey experience.
Not ideal for: Quick shopping trips, people on tight budgets, those who prefer outdoor activities, or anyone looking for a traditional mall experience.

American Dream Mall is honestly one of the coolest places I’ve ever been! They literally have everything you can imagine — an indoor waterpark, indoor skiing, tons of shops, restaurants, and so many fun activities for all ages.

I’ve been a couple of times now, and I still don’t think I’ve seen the whole mall. It’s massive and there’s always something new to check out — from the amusement park and mini putt to the arcade and movie theatre.

Canada seriously needs a mall like this! Especially during the winter months — having everything you could want to do indoors, all in one place, would be amazing. American Dream really lives up to its name!

Super cool mall. 2nd biggest in the States. 3rd biggest in all of North America.

It was sick seeing indoor theme parks and ski resort. Crazy. We came up from Baltimore.

Check out activate. Its a good place for adults and kids alike.

The Yard had quality food.

Plenty of blind box stores hehe.

Parking is only $5 for the day which is crazy to me. Baltimore charges like $5 an hour lol

Idk what else to say. It was a fun experience and we didn't experience a single issue.

Had a good time at Nickelodeon Dream water park. Had a box room with a nice view. Celebrating my niece 10th birthday. Wish the rooms had showers, full length mirror and better circulation. It was very humid even with the ceiling fan. We were supposed to have access to the water park and the dry side with rides. However, some rides we were allowed to get on others kept stating our wristbands couldn't be scanned. We found out later there was a mix up as we didn't have bands with a QR code for easy access. It was remedied by providing free tickets for dry amusements at another time. My niece was disappointed along with her friends. They were good sports and look forward to returning.

Great experience at American Dream Mall. They have something for everyone. Shopping, dining, entertainment, and so much more. It really is an experience. So put on a smile, lace up your walking shoes and spend a day or two. You still won’t even come close to doing it all.

This time we quickly stopped by and did some shopping, had lunch, played a round of mini-golf and went on our way. I will be back.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ American Dream Mall – East Rutherford, NJ

American Dream Mall is truly one of a kind! It’s not just a shopping center—it’s a full entertainment destination. The variety is amazing: from high-end luxury stores to regular retail shops, plus an entire floor dedicated to dining options.

What really makes it stand out are the attractions. The indoor water park and ski slope are must-see experiences—you don’t find that in any other mall. The Nickelodeon Universe amusement park is perfect for families with kids, and the DreamWorks Water Park has something for all ages.

The mall is massive, clean, and well-organized. Parking is plentiful (though some sections are paid), and the staff is friendly and helpful. Be prepared to walk a lot—it’s huge, so comfortable shoes are a must.

Overall, American Dream Mall offers more than just shopping—it’s a full-day adventure combining retail, dining, and entertainment. A great place for families, groups of friends, or even a unique date spot. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in New Jersey or nearby NYC.

Where do I begin? For starters this mall was absolutely way more than I thought it was going to be. There was so much to see and do, and the five hours I was there didn't even seem to scratch the surface. There was an excellent selection of stores from basic to designer and the architecture and design was absolutely stunning.

Every area of the mall felt like a different adventure, unfortunately did not have enough time for the theme park, or the water park but that just means I have to go back! I would highly recommend this for any family as there is literally something for everyone here. Whether it's the insane amounts of places to eat with a huge variety, or if you're just walking around, to even shopping. There is something here for everyone!

Thank goodness there are directories everywhere because you can easily get lost and lose track of time here.

Another cool thing is the parking lot offers accommodations for the stadium right across the way, which has its own bridge that goes to it!

I can't wait to go back, five hours was most certainly not enough! I can't wait to see what else goes in there when I finally do get to go back!

American Dream was a great experience for us all. Although the mall requires 2-3 days to experience everything, we were able to get some shopping and eating done in the time we spent. The mall does get very busy no matter the time of the week it seems. Sunday was packed with families and young children and Monday was the exact same way! The navigation of the mall is difficult if you aren't using a map or downloaded option as there are so many twists and turns for the building and so many levels! Many guest have difficulty with parking, but we elected to go with Parking Deck A, which had ample parking and quick entry and exit without any issue at all. Parking for the day was $5.33 (2025). Bathrooms were subpar, but what bathroom is ever clean in an establishment of this sort? We enjoyed our experience and will be back in the future.
