We absolutely love The Delaware! Drinks, food, and atmosphere are so lovely. Service was impeccable & there is always something new to try on the menu. For someone who isn’t always in the mood for a cocktail, I love the mocktail selection. The shrimp scampi was 10/10. We had such a nice meal and we will be back soon!!

This beautiful restaurant was the perfect place to celebrate my son’s graduation. I loved the menu and was impressed by the Steak Diane, bucatini, basket of focaccia and cocktails. Our waiter Raymond was delightful. I also noticed the friendly support he had running food and clearing plates. Highly recommend!

My husband and I came here for dinner for our anniversary. Although the service was good, and although I appreciate gluten free options and vegetarian options, the food needs some finessing. The eggplant meatballs were flavorless and a bit dry. I found myself searching for flavor and didn’t find any. They could use seasoning and some oil, even just adding more salt would have been better. The chicken piccata was decent, the mashed potatoes could afford to be a bit thicker as they were quite runny, almost like a puree. The most disappointing was the French toast bread pudding. Incredibly dry, dense and also completely flavorless other than the tart fruit jam it’s served over. With French toast flavors, I expect some warmth with cinnamon, and vanilla but there was none in that. It was basically just dry thick bread with fruit jam and ice cream (the ice cream helped make it more palatable).
I don’t see myself running back there to have a meal, or raving about it to others. For the amount of money we paid I expected to be impressed. If they tweaked the recipes I think it would be quite an improvement and do the restaurant well.

My fiancé and I recently celebrated Valentine’s Day at The Delaware, and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. When we arrived, the restaurant was busy and lively, but not chaotic — it had an energetic yet comfortable feel.

We sat at the bar for a cocktail while waiting for our table. I ordered a Negroni and my fiancé had the Pearsecco Spritzer — both were excellent and beautifully balanced. It was a great way to start the evening.

We were seated by the front window at a table that typically accommodates four, so we had plenty of space to relax and enjoy our meal. The atmosphere felt classic, old-world, and romantic — perfect for a special occasion. Our server was friendly, attentive, and quick without ever making us feel rushed.

For dinner, I had the prime rib and my fiancé ordered the surf and turf. Both dishes were delicious and well-prepared. Everything about the evening felt thoughtful and well-executed.

Overall, we were extremely pleased with our experience and would absolutely return. It’s a fantastic spot for a special night out.

The Delaware is a fantastic spot in Albany. I've had countless great meals and experiences here; they take great pride in their service and care for their dinner guests. The ambiance and attention to detail makes a visit feel very upscale and elegant. Pictures attached are from a 6-course wine tasting event - a very fun and educational evening.
