Dr. Karen Rodriguez Lopez, I cannot say enough good things about her. I have been seeing her for about a year now, she has truly been a Godsend. With every visit, she listens to me with genuine care. She validates every single concern I have and never makes me feel like I am wasting her time.
What I appreciate most is how thorough and proactive she is. Thanks to her proactiveness, she recently referred me to a skin specialist for a spot on my arm. Although that spot turned out to be nothing, the specialist's scan did find a couple of precancerous spots I would have questioned on my own. Dr Rodriguez’s concern and carefulness directly protected my health.
Beyond her medical expertise, Dr. Rodriguez brings incredible heart to her practice. She is always attentive and compassionate giving encouraging words to lift my spirits when I am feeling down. As with all Dr appointments, you may occasionally wait a few extra minutes past your time, but the moment she steps into the room, you’ll understand why - because she gives every patient her full, unhurried attention.
The practice itself is fantastic. Scheduling is always smooth; I’ve been able to schedule appointments around my available time & work schedule. The offices are immaculate, well organized, and the staff members are exceptionally upbeat, pleasant, and knowledgeable. Every time I walk out of her office, I feel my concerns are thoroughly addressed, and my day feels much brighter. Dr. Rodriguez is an extraordinary doctor; she truly cares about her patients' overall well-being.
I highly recommend her and the American Family Medicine offices on Southern.

I came here a few weeks ago and everyone was very nice and I really liked Karen, but I sadly will not be coming back for the fact they had someone who had no idea what they were doing. Draw my blood alone. She was digging in my skin with a needle, and it was just a horrible experience. No one informed me she wasn’t experienced and there wasn’t anyone else spotting her or anything. I have no problem with needles they don’t bug me much and I have great veins but now I’m scared to get my blood drawn. She blew both of my veins 🫤

Dr Lopez was a delightful provider to work with. Supportive, knowledgeable, and kind. I’ve been type 1 diabetic for 35 years and it’s NOT easy to live with, so, finding a provider who does not lecture a person, yet offers guidance is invaluable. What else could a person ask for?

I had a great experience at American Family Medicine with Karen Rodriguez Lopez, PA. From the moment I walked in, I noticed how clean and organized the clinic was. The front desk was being managed efficiently by two gentlemen who were professional and welcoming.

After checking in, the medical assistant promptly brought me back and took my vitals. When Karen came into the room, she immediately made me feel at ease. She was extremely professional and attentive, taking the time to listen to all of my questions and concerns. What stood out to me the most was her ability to genuinely connect, she made my concerns relatable by sharing how she understands them from real-life experience.

I’ve been searching for a primary care provider who takes the time to really listen and doesn’t make the visit feel rushed. Karen absolutely delivered that. Her bedside manner is excellent, and I especially appreciated being able to communicate in both English and Spanish with her.

I’m confident in the care she provides and will definitely be referring my family and friends to her!
