Saves me long trips to square one walmart and very convenient for condo residents nearby. Clean and organized. Affordable with regular promotions.
South Asian options(fresh and dry produce) needs to be better. Niche items in demand are often sold out and not restocked regularly. Accessible lift in south entrance is often not working or blocked. Replace it with an old fashioned ramp.
Several unused staff checkout counters. Self check out is often queued up. Needs a complete redesign of checkout space.

I've been coming to this supermarket since it opened, and I love it because I find it organized and very clean. I had looked for the parking lot several times and couldn't find it. It turns out the parking lot is laid out like this... If you're facing the entrance to Food Basic, you should picture yourself going down Parkside Village Dr. Turn right onto Square One Dr. When you see that you're on a dead end, keep turning right until, as you can see, behind the supermarket on the right (from your perspective), you'll find the parking lot. While it's for residents of the condominiums, it's shared on level P1, but you have to pay $2 or spend more than $20 at the supermarket for it to be free, as Food Basic pays for parking. I'm showing you this so there's no confusion. I recommend the oranges from South America; they're juicy and delicious. P.S. It was about time they put the cookies on sale, since it's been over four months since they were last discounted. đź¤đź¤đź¤

Great location for condo residents!
This Food Basics is in a prime spot—super convenient for those living in the nearby condos. The store is relatively clean and has a familiar layout, similar to other Food Basics locations, which makes shopping quick and easy.
While I personally find Metro a bit cleaner (though definitely more expensive), this Food Basics is a fantastic addition for everyday grocery runs. Affordable pricing and accessibility make it a go-to for City Centre residents.

In Canada, Food Basics, a discount grocery banner of Metro Ontario, was introduced in 1995 by A&P's Canadian subsidiary to compete with No Frills, and currently operates 145 stores across Ontario, providing customers with "Always More for Less" through fresh, in-stock, and affordable products.
Delighted to welcome Food Basics store to Mississauga, just a short walk from my home. I visited the store yesterday morning for its grand opening and was one of the first 150 customers. Upon entering, I was impressed by the store's bright and clean atmosphere, with neatly organized shelves and clear signage. The availability of sufficient basement parking is a notable advantage, especially during adverse weather conditions. Furthermore, the staff demonstrated excellent training and a friendly demeanor, while the self-checkout supervisor was particularly well-versed and courteous, making customers feel at ease.
Upon attending the opening day, several observations were made: notably, the initial group of customers was not greeted by management or team members upon arrival. Furthermore, there were no special promotions or offers to commemorate the grand opening, aside from a few discounted products within the store. A more engaging opening event, replete with special deals and a welcoming approach, would have made a more impactful first impression. Pricing was found to be non-competitive with nearby grocery stores, although the variety of products was substantial. While there is no ramp at the entrance, the store is accessible for individuals with wheelchairs or physical disabilities through the rear entrance, located near the underground parking lobby.
During my use of the self-checkout counter, a staff member continually affixed a thank-you sticker to every item checked out, which I deemed somewhat obstructive to my checkout process, and the use of stickers struck me as environmentally unfriendly and unnecessary.

The newly opened supermarket in Mississauga offers a pleasant shopping experience with a nice ambiance and a well-organized layout. One of its key advantages is the ample basement parking, making it convenient for customers. The store is neatly arranged, and the staff appears well-trained and efficient, ensuring smooth operations.
However, the opening day lacked a welcoming touch, as no management or team members were present to greet customers. Additionally, there were no special promotions or attractive offers to mark the grand opening, which could have enhanced customer engagement.Just figers manipulating.
Overall, while the supermarket provides a good shopping environment, a more engaging opening event with special deals and a welcoming approach could have made a stronger first impression.
